I think I have a great solution to the gamebattles problem.  The best way to do this would be to use wiiunite, which should be an unbias, neutral site.

Basically we create a thread or section which states the best possible competitive rules.  Both clans "E-SIGN" these rules by stating their name, the date of war, and post a banner.

This then shows a public agreement to the rules.  Posts should not be deletable.

I think this can solve a lot of the problems at gamebattles.  And I would be willing to help moderate this section.

I honestly don't see any problem with Gamebattles. They have the best system out of any. There is nothing wrong with their dispute system either, just record the match and/or take pictures and problem solved. Plus, the ladder hasn't even started yet so how do you know that it will have problems.

The only think about GameBattles is, they don't have a player's opinion on the issue. Also, you can't see the other team's proof. So they could just submit fake proof. At least here, it'll be more fair, and more interesting.

True, they can have fake pictures but I don't see how anyone can fake a whole video of the match....and there aren't too many teams that are that much of a sore loser.

from what i heard about playing on gamebattles im pretty sure this would be a perfect solution or atleast a start. so we can keep it honest. you decide on your rules ahead of time put your stamp on it and you lose your right to b!tch about it later. Afro

and to ask how do you know there is going to be problems with the ladder....LAWL

I'm all for it.

Should we turn this topic into a petition?

Using Gamebattles is still better than making a ladder for the following reasons:

1) Gamebattles is more known, so it attracts more squads. Look at the CoD ladder. There were over 500 teams at one point, while the Gfaqs MoH ladder had less than 20 clans. Not many clans have heard about Wii Unite. Even if you do promote Wii Unite, clans still see gamebattles as a bigger stage.

2) No BS point system. Gamebattles point system is fair.

3) You agree to a match before hand and MUST play at the scheduled time. No postponing, which was prevalent in MoH. Clans would postpone 2-3 times and then the war would never happen.

4) Matchmaking - allows clans to accept a specific match w/o knowing who it is before accepting. This way, elite clans wont have a hard time getting matches since clans like to noob farm. Just put a match finder and you are almost always guaranteed to get a match.

5) Gamebattles playoffs are organized; they actually HAPPENED and FINISHED. Look at all the half ass tournaments for MoH. I don't even remember one tournament that was finished. All of them resulted in flame wars and disputes.

6) Unbiased proof system. Although gamebattles admins are sometimes stupid, they don't side with a certain squad. If you make a clan council, as we did with moh, with one person from each clan, the clan that has a bad rep, which carries over from previous games(moh, cod), will lose the dispute even though they may be correct.

7) Gamebattles updates the ladder immediately after a result is reported.

Cool Eliminates ringers. Since TC uses FCs, clans can verify them on the gamebattles team page. I remember a lot of times when people from other clans would play for a different clan, in MoH. eg. Salami admitted, a month ago, that Zzz played for WTb against AoW in a MoH cw.

aredd mayne hes not saying we shouldnt use game battles but to make a thread here where we can agree on war rules. so when you play your match on gamebattles everyone knows what the rules are. and having signed it you admit that you know whats up. so you have no excuse to say well "durrrr i didnt know we werent supposed to use BLAH BLAH.."

Oh, lol. That's a good idea, but gamebattles usually allows us to select the rules and then send the challenge. However in the playoffs, gamebattles gives us crappy pre-set rules, so Zzz's idea would be useful there.

Who would go through all that trouble just for one cheap win? When have you ever heard of anyone doing that before on the Wii? Even when teams do cheat on Gamebattles the best team normally wins the overall ladder, ex: AoW winning the winter season.

gamebattles completely ruined any sort of competetive play in waw. in moh, the rules may not have been perfect and there may have been disagreements but that was, for the most part, this community's first try. everyone deserves a second chance. with the people who play the game, partake in the wars, and experience the games making the decisions things will work better. i think that we should have a moderator group that would make rulings, decisions and what have you, and that these people should not be flamed or insulted. they would be chosen just like the great group of mods on wiiunite, hell, we could even just have the mods here be those same mods. if you have a dispute on a cw, don't make a flame topic like old school moh, make a dispute topic. one rep per team may post one at a time, no double posts or edits, and wait for decisons and opinions from mods. on gb random teams could play noobs to get to the top, we can avoid this to a certian degree. we can gain a large group of players and bring them to wiiunite by bringing the competitive play here. i completely support this and i want the old school days of moh, we are the mods, we make the choices, not some random guy who doesn't know the community or never plays in our clan wars.
