Not bad for a first. I think its kind of funny how everyone uses the gradient flares though. I think I did too for my first, lol. Yep...I did, haha.

There's a one-eyed dog With horns like a yak, Wax lips and a broken back His feet in front face the opposite Of his hind legs in the back He tried to save that sandy girl From the city man disease But was stung to death By all the pets Of the man with the beard of bees

in my opinion gradient flare is a way to seem less nooby... i should know i am a gimp noob and my sig has it Sorry to burst your bubble, but gradient flare is the sign of noobiness because it shows that the creator isn't proficient enough with the program yet to create a sig without the use of pre-programed effects. Its not bad, its where most everyone starts, it just shows that they can't yet create a strong signature using hand crafted composition, rather than pre-programed effects. And if you don't mind me asking what tool/effect or whatever do you use most?
TBH, it wouldn't do much good for me to explain to you. I use a vast multitude of effects and techniques in my tags that is simply only possible with GFX experience to understand. However, I am fond of C4D, stock, and smudging effects. Also vector and pentooling, but I'm quite a bit worse in those aspects.
