well, it's not completely ludicrous. However, there is really no way to limit it to a particular year of registration. Rather it would have to be limited to a user group. If this were to be implemented, I would probably suggest that it was a perk for the "founding member" user group. After all, most of the perks for being a founding member are gone since everyone else has the added permissions by now.

I signed this as a joke. I really don't care what you do, but what I want to know is 'what are you trying to get away from?'. If it's stupid posts or spamming then here is Ohio's response: Later Turbo. I wish you the best in you search for some sort of perfect public forum without immature kids and trolls. But I know you'll need all the luck you can get because contrary to the dillusions in your head, it simply doesn't exist. You simply need to gain some perspective and realize that internet message boards are what you make of them. You will only get the same amount of enjoyment as you decide you want to get out of it. Remember, we didn't come from GF because the message board was full of noobs and trolls (we WERE a bunch of noobs and trolls and immature posters). We came from GF to avoid having our trolling modded. I hope one day you will realize this and you will always be welcome here at this site. Good luck to you. So, why is a private group being considered? To make people feel elite? I know most of you probably don't care, but if you create a private group for founding members or whatever then I won't come back. I don't want to support elitests. If you make the option of creating private groups for whomever wants them then that's a different story.

I don't disagree at all with you term. And I can't say such a board is being considered by the staff. I just posted what my initial thoughts were. And ever since the inception of this site, we were trying to think of what perks would be nice for founding members. We gave them their own membergroup with a different color name, and made it so they didn't have to achieve any post count limit to gain full permissions. But I had never really thought of a private VIP lounge. Or at least if it had come up, it was denied due the fact that the community hadn't been established, and a small private lounge may hinder its growth.
At this point, the founding member membergroup is now a small percentage of the site population and therefore wouldn't really detract much from site traffic to have such a lounge. It is just a thought as a benefit for those who have been here since day 1, but it is so far from even being considered so far, let alone implemented, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I was just thinking out loud in my response.

sounds like it might be cool, but I understand if it doesn't work out. I do agree though, it gives some of the true vets here, the ones who made the topics about wiiunite coming up on gamefaqs, the guys who voted for the mods, and were here from day one helping out or participating in the community, a bit of recognition and a place where they can go because of those reasons.

You mean the one's who never posted? Let's just say that a lot of these newer people are keeping the forum alive. I'm curious to see how many threads have been started by founding members in the last 4 or 5 months compared to others.

and how many of those are worth being on here? how many get a real discussion, or have anything of substance? many of the vets here have less posts, or less topics, because we choose to have actual conversations. newer members aren't keeping wiiunite alive. are they a part of it? yes, every member is, but wiiunite was well and alive before the newer people were around, and it would still be without them

the original posters also were all playing MoH religiously. that's not the case anymore. I don't think it would be a bad thing to have a section for founding members. I also don't think it's elitist either cuz they wouldn't be bothering or interfering w/ the rest of the site. what if you made it like a clan section but just had all the founding members be mods of that section? they could police the posts themselves. although, it might turn into a problem if everyone had that power imagine nds w/ mod powers lol

I think you are reading too much into this term. I don't see it as some crazy active place. And I don't see it as taking anything away from board activity or anything like that. I invision it as just a small board with few posts, but at least gives a small perk to founding members who came here from GF on the first day and helped make this a success.
However you are right that since then, there are many others who also play a huge part in our continued success, so I would probably suggest also allowing wii gurus or something like that have an opportunity to earn their way in.
But ultimately I think it won't be really active. It's just knowing that it's there that will be a small thank you to people.

yeah, i think it would just be kinda like a place where they could come and reconnect w/ eachother w/out being over run w/ spam posts from people they don't know. the newer noobs did run off a lot of the original posters w/ their constant spam.
