yeah however global mods have to have access to all the boards so you would be able to see it. Just no talking noob.

You mean the one's who never posted? Let's just say that a lot of these newer people are keeping the forum alive. I'm curious to see how many threads have been started by founding members in the last 4 or 5 months compared to others.
and how many of those are worth being on here? how many get a real discussion, or have anything of substance? many of the vets here have less posts, or less topics, because we choose to have actual conversations. newer members aren't keeping wiiunite alive. are they a part of it? yes, every member is, but wiiunite was well and alive before the newer people were around, and it would still be without them I didn't say all the new threads were winners, but according to Ohio, not all of the old ones were winners either. Just because there are poor threads doesn't mean the founding members can't make good ones. What's stopping them? There isn't a limit to the number of threads that can be created. I've got an idea, why don't you just ban everyone that isn't a founding member and then you can have your forum back Or maybe you could only allow blond hair blue-eyed people to join. If you wanted a private forum then you WaRMarinE have made it public. You guys are asking for the same thing Turbo asked for. You want people to be modded and spammers to be banned. I personally don't have a problem with that. Most of my posts are legit. Take WiiUnite private and lock the whole site down from the public. I dare you. I double-dog dare you.

i see it more as a place to talk about the old times, funny stuff, and check up with people you haven't talked to in a while. it's not meant to insult newer members, or shame them for not being here from the start. Instead it's a place for people who've been here to just hang out and talk. there's still the rest of the forum for everyone, this is just one small board.
this isn't about banning spammers, we don't want that. as ohio as said, the idea is for a public forum. this is just a small extra board, no big deal in my mind..

wow overreact much?
no one is asking for a private forum, nor is anyone advocating banning noobs or spammers or limiting posting in any way.
you are reading FAAAAAR too much into this.

The reason you are doing it is to block out the spammers. That is essentially what Turbo asked for and Ohio refused. Now, you have a creative way of getting around it. Rather than modding, you are creating an oasis inside the wild west.

heck, we could make the board and no one would even know about it, then what . I mean the admins/mods have a private board and no one would argue that is somehow turning this place into a private community.

And i don't think that creating one for founding members would either. Is the problem that you're not in the group? is that what insults you? it's not like founding members are just going to disappear from the rest of the forum or anything. we're still going to post just as much everywhere else. it's just another few topics for just us to post in.

yeah, i don't think it's that big of a deal. term, i don't even really know all these old guys either and I probably wouldn't post in that board much anyway. i just know that a lot of the people that made this site aren't here now cuz they didn't want to deal w/ all the I8's and R Ocelot's that showed up. i mean, it was their site in the first place you know. i don't see how it would effect the rest of the WU community if they had a place to post for themselves. I'm sure they would like to say what's up to each other again. it would probably just add to the active members in all the other sections of the site too cuz they could meet the new people as well.
it's just that a lot of cool people left cuz of the amount of noobs that showed up after this place got popular. i wish a lot of them would come back cuz they had a ton of funny and relevant things to say that would contribute to the site
GF was where I started reading all this **** and it was hilarious. most of those people are gone now cuz they got sick of people spamming their threads everytime one was made.

I didn't read the last 2 posts, but I agree with term. Its basically segregation. You can't drink from our water fountain. Ride in the back of the bus. To me its a private sector for people to go and talk dookie about everyone else without being seen. A place to gossip just like the country clubs of tje world. If you want to catch up with old timers then make a thread about it. I mostly pass over or don't post if certain things aren't my business, so I see no problem with noobs overthrowing your threads. .02 cents.

No, the problem isn't that I'm not part of it. The problem is that I don't like to support exclusivity. If I had never known about it then I guess it wouldn't have mattered (and yes Ohio I know that ignorance is not a valid defence ). I do believe that people would choose to post in that group rather than in the main board, which would reduce the good threads and responses in the main board. I agree there is a lot of spam and if some of the good threads move to the private area then it makes WU even worse. Like I said, an oasis. By making a private group you run the risk of reducing the value of the public board and that's what affects me directly. That's why I take offense. I've put a lot of time into this board, I've contributed with legitimate posts, and I don't want to see it go downhill.

Like I said, many seem to be missing the point. It isn't about segregation or avoiding noobs or spammers. Please get that concept out of your heads. You have all seen me advocate strongly against others who have suggested segregating from spammers or banning people because they are annoying. That is clearly not what this is about.
This is about the WU staff attempting to give out a small reward to loyal members of the site. Every single other site I can think of offers perks based on post count or length of time on the site. Why is this any different?
If I thought for one second it would have a segregational effect I wouldn't even consider it. And if it was implemented and it had that effect, I would delete it. However I see no way that would happen and therefore offering a small perk for long time or active members is not a bad thing.

Exactly, and if the noobs invade then remove their posts. Keep that thread clean. You have that power.
