I thought of something I want! My mountain bike needs a new chain as my current one is too old and some links became rusted cause I left it outside when it rained one time.

seriously your a stud to be happy with something so little you can use and enjoy, so many people these days are spoiled rotten and it makes them grow up to appreciate dookie

Title: Re: #1 thing you want for Christmas
Post by: laughing turd on November 24, 2009, 12:55:24 am
xD Yeah thats true. Well I thank mom & dad for that. I grew up poor so they taught me to be happy w/ what I had. I used my imagination and played outside instead of the newest toy with lights. Im older now and even though my family has $$$ that lesson remains.

I know you got a lil baby girl right? These are the lessons man xD

Title: Re: #1 thing you want for Christmas
Post by: Permanent Poopface on November 24, 2009, 01:04:38 am
I try to teach her these lessons but I tell you what her grandparents won't stop buying her stuff, not that i'm complaining because it saves me money , so I have to lay down the law on when and why she can play with her toys which can teach her good things also, but honestly my 3 year old daughter owns me, I always give in, shes just to damn cute. anyways me and u keep this topic going until 5000!

Title: Re: #1 thing you want for Christmas
Post by: laughing turd on November 24, 2009, 01:17:04 am
Haha! Yeah dude lil girls have a way to get what they want. I dont have kids but my sis has a baby girl and the other one has a 21\2 year old boy. Im a bit tough with the boy. If he gets hurt Im kind and loving but I still have a "man up boy" attitude with him. If the girl cries I immediately pick her up and rub the boo boo gone! xD My mom n dad also spoil them silly! It does save $ but its not good because the parent should lay down the law and not have gramps break that law.

Title: Re: #1 thing you want for Christmas
Post by: Permanent Poopface on November 24, 2009, 01:22:41 am
I agree and disagree,  I believe its ok for kids to have fun things to do/play with if they do what they are told... chores and etc.   but ya if I had a boy it would be alot easier because I know  people get alot more stoked about buying girl stuff, because to them all girl stuff is " so cute"

Title: Re: #1 thing you want for Christmas
Post by: laughing turd on November 24, 2009, 01:32:00 am
Oh yeah kids are supposed to play. Thats when they learn a lot of stuff. What I meant was that its up to the PARENT to regulate how much play or when they get toys not gramps. Ex. When my sis has to tell jr no he immediately runs to granda for a second opinion much to my sisters ire. Of course gifts are never bad to give children! But if they can just bypass mom/dad cus grammy will get it regardless something needs to be done. Know what I mean?

Okay Mr. Vita-man. Question:
Are multivitamins actually beneficial, or just a way to make money. Mizz K tries to make me take centrum for men, and some others and I'm not sure if there's any effect. What's your take?

Title: Re: #1 thing you want for Christmas
Post by: Permanent Poopface on November 24, 2009, 11:53:36 am
beneficial if you go with a good one like I mentioned, if you don't then your pissing out 70 percent of it, and your stomach acid will eat the rest

but then again you were talking to mr vita-man so don't listen to my answer

but Apex has the same basic stuff most have in a multi but they also have a controlled release system which is key to not peeing out your vitamins

Okay Mr. Vita-man. Question:
Are multivitamins actually beneficial, or just a way to make money. Mizz K tries to make me take centrum for men, and some others and I'm not sure if there's any effect. What's your take?

Centrum is like if you had a bottle, went outside, and threw some dirt in it. It's dookie. It's synthetic. It's tablets, good luck on absorbing half of them you intake. Multi-vitamins are beneficiary though. You can knock out most of your vitamin deficiencies just by taking one. They are the most basic thing you can take for all your needs, whether for energy (B vitamins), immunity (Vitamin A,C,E/minerals such as zinc and selenium), or bone support (boron, calcium, copper).

Now I'm not saying all multivitamins are garbage, but Centrum is garbage. This is not something you do everyday, but when you look at the back of the bottle, some of the things to look for are DV% and the form certain vitamins come in. DV is the Daily Value, which is actually the minimum daily value that you can take in that vitamin/mineral to prevent deficiencies. You want to aim for 100 - 200% in A, Over 100% in C and D, as well as E. As for B vitamins, if you see any of them in the 100% DV range, that's really weak. This is because B vitamins are water soluble. These are the vitamins you end up pissing out at the end of the day, which your body does not store. Vitamin C is also water soluble (Although it comes in a fat soluble form called ascorbyl palmitate), so more realistically you should see amounts like "2100%" in certain B vitamins and "500%" in C since you can't overdose on them. Vitamin A, E, and D are fat soluble in which your body stores them. This means you can overdose on these supplements and intoxicate your body.

How much is too much? Well Vitamin A's overdose is about 30,000IU in a serving. Say your multivitamin supplies 25,000IU. That's not bad, but you should also keep track of the amount of A you're getting from your foods. Vitamin D is well beyond 5000 IU, and E is beyond 1000 despite being sold as low as 100IU.

Oh yea! Quality of the vitamins! Well minerals are pretty safe, but let's look at good names and bad names:

Cholecaciferol (sp?) - This is the most natural form of Vitamin D, also known as D3. It's produced on our skin when we are exposed to the UV rays of the sun, and taking it as a supplement, it's the best absorbed that your body will recognize.

Ergocaciferol (sp?) - Vitamin D2. This is the second best form of D you can take, which is derived from food sources. It is second best to absorption next to D3.

D5 - This is the synthetic form of D. If you buy some cheap Walgreen's brand, it'll probably have this in it.

Beta-Carotene - Most natural form of A. Yes it is derived from carrots.

Ascorbic Acid - Vitamin C. Still natural, just in an acidic form. If you have acid reflux or high stomach acid levels, consider calcium ascorbic or "Ester C".

Ascorbyl Palmitate - Fat soluble C. Stays in your system longer.

Uh..................one last thing. Popping one dose of your multivitamin probably won't give you any results. Everybody's body is different, so it may be weeks or months to see results, assuming you chose a well-absorbed multivitamin. If you're gonna try tablets, try to find "enteric coated" on the box, so you'll know they'll be better dissolved in the digestive system.

also if you want pretty nails and nice hair get some flax seed oil.

If you have a 5 pound bag of sugar around, I'll tell you how to make some homemade celltech

I love how everyone is talking about supplements and nutrition. This is my fave thread now. :)

As for brands K, I only know the ones in my store. Solaray, Nature's Way, Garden of Life, Solgar, very good brands. Just try to find one that says "Whole food multi-vitamin" on the label. Best absorption, even if it's a tablet.   O0

^ Costco has good pricing on liquid vitamins.

Here's a summary I copied from Consumer Reports:

Multivitamins
What to avoid, how to choose

TRIED AND TRUE Stick to mainstream multivitamin brands. Our tests found that those sold in cut-rate discount stores are often substandard.
You can generally rely on major brand-name and store-brand multivitamins, our past tests have found. But what about the super-cheap multivitamins in close-out and dollar stores?

Our November 2004 report found problems with other products in those stores, so we tested their multivitamins. The results indicate that buying those pills at such outlets is a gamble not worth taking: Nearly half of the 18 tested brands failed to contain the labeled amount of at least one nutrient, and several did not dissolve adequately.

But there are more ways to waste your money on multivitamins than just buying unreliable brands. Some of the roughly 75 million Americans who buy the pills may not need them at all. Others spend extra for megadoses, exotic nutrients, or special formulations that may be unnecessary; some of those high doses may even be harmful.

Here’s a comprehensive guide to making safe, sensible, economic choices about multivitamins, including our recommendations for the optimal doses of the 18 essential nutrients, plus the amounts that could be dangerous.

DO YOU NEED A MULTIVITAMIN?

Multivitamins are clearly beneficial for certain groups who have special nutritional requirements. Those include:

• Women who are pregnant or trying to become pregnant.

• People with gastrointestinal disorders or other nutrient-depleting illnesses such as diabetes or cancer.

• Strict vegetarians (unless they’re knowledgeable about how to get all the necessary nutrients from food).

• Those on restricted diets.

Whether other people should take a multivitamin is less certain. It’s probably not necessary if you eat a healthful diet, meaning plenty of fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, and low-fat dairy products, and modest amounts of fish and low-fat meat and poultry. Indeed, getting your nutrients from food rather than pills offers noteworthy advantages. Food contains beneficial fiber as well as phytochemicals that may not only help prevent disease but also interact usefully with one another. And consuming plenty of nutritious foods leaves less room in your diet for unhealthful choices.

However, research has shown that most Americans don’t eat the recommended diet. As a result, modest nutritional shortages are common, especially after age 50. For example, even older people who eat a healthful diet may lack sufficient amounts of intrinsic factor, a protein produced by the stomach that’s needed to absorb vitamin B12 from food. And they may not get enough vitamin D because the need increases with age and their ability to synthesize the vitamin in response to sunlight declines. Some evidence suggests that taking multivitamins can fill such potential gaps and might reduce the risk of developing certain diseases in that age group as well as in younger people who don’t eat nutritiously.

Note that some people may need additional supplements. Multivitamins typically contain far less than the recommended daily intake of calcium. Some older people, depending on their diet and sun exposure, may need more vitamin D than most multivitamins provide.

Lost Season 5 Blu Ray DVD would be really nice, but i'm getting it for myself so I guess if it's a present from someone else it would have to be some clothes from Man Alive (they sell Sean John, Enyce, and other rapper clothing)

I eat a lot of veggies. Mainly becuase my mom is a vegatarian. So I'm always throwing good fruits and veggies down my throat. So I'm not worried.

And for Chirstmas I want:

Well...I don't need anything, nor want anything.
But, a year round bus pass for the City Bus. xDDD
