Title: [TCon2] Official Conduit 2 News Topic: UPDATED 10/28: New dookie Revealed! Post by: MEX on March 30, 2010, 10:55:25 am Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii
High Voltage Software gearing up for sequel. by Jim Reilly March 29, 2010 - The cover of the May issue of Nintendo Power reveals a sequel to the famed first-person shooter, The Conduit, is in development for the Wii. While IGN has yet to receive its copy to confirm exact details, it appears SEGA will again be publishing the title. Conduit 2 is also said to feature a 4-player split screen competitive mode. The first title sold modestly, shipping 150,000 units worldwide during its launch week. High Voltage Software CEO Kerry Ganofsky told IGN in February the game has gone on to sell over 350,000 copies since then. High Voltage Software is also working on another title, The Grinder, a multiplatform game due out late next year. The Grinder was originally a Wii exclusive title before it was revealed it would also be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. http://wii.ign.com/articles/108/1080551p1.html Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! To be honest, I was disappointed with the first one :'( When did they say COD 2010 is slated for release Mailo? Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? Post by: the KR3AT3R on March 30, 2010, 11:55:22 am "Famed"!?!?!?
ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dumb asses! :D Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? Post by: MEX on March 30, 2010, 12:08:07 pm Bantha: I think around November Bantha.
As for Conduit 2 I have some small hope that it will be good. First, High Voltage has now learned from their first outing and will definitely try and make this one a lot more funner. Just by confirming 4 player split-screen for offline is a sign that they are getting better. Second, this will be another Wii exclusive I think so we will be getting everything that was intended to be released for this game unlike some games who are released for the 360 and PS3 due to hardware limitations. Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? Post by: the KR3AT3R on March 30, 2010, 12:26:58 pm If they didn't admit that they screwed up with the first one, I doubt they are conscious of making this better. b)

Apparently it's coming this fall. I honestly didn't play the first one because apparently it sucked, but I might buy it. I mean, there really isn't anything else to play in terms of FPS's on the Wii except MWR. Maybe HVC will listen to the fans' feedback and change some things that sucked. And with more games comes more experience. O0 *hopes it will be good* Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? I forgot about that damn glitch! I used to go take a dump while stuck in that spawn glitch and when I came back I'd still be there. Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? Post by: Cadillak on March 30, 2010, 08:33:45 pm i will seriously lol for a week if there is a spawn glitch that glitch is why i only played that game online for about a week b) i thought the game would have been fun if it didn't have a few problems that broke it. the glitch, the online system, etc.... kept it from being a pretty good game. and **** wii speak. O-rings got me for more money w/ that p.o.s. conference call shitbox Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? Post by: Cadillak on March 30, 2010, 08:34:15 pm oh, hi red :-*

Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? Post by: MEX on March 31, 2010, 11:38:20 am HVS just confirmed that the Grinder will be an FPS game exclusively for the Wii while the PS3, 360, and PC will be getting it, but it will be a 3rd Person shooter.
As for The Conduit 2 I will get it bootleg and let ya guys know if it's any good lol. I wasted 50 bucks on the first game and I am very hesitant as well about the second game. I even bought Wii Speak for it! That's like 80 dollars down the drain! Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? Post by: [F5]Wegzyzz on March 31, 2010, 11:59:28 am i can already see the grinder being a Gears rip off :/ so im not really celebrating the fact its FPS on the Wii, I woulda liked to try a 3PS shooter type thing.
its just the name.. Gears...Grinder... i'll stick with CoD7/CoD8 and that MoH Afghan O0 Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? Post by: OhioLawyer on March 31, 2010, 12:40:24 pm Well I will buy it and let you guys know.
Honestly I don't know why TC got so much crap as a game. Once you were in-game, the game play was a blast. The only problems, while major defects, were easily fixed administrative issues. It took forever to connect and authenticate (and random matchmaking is lame anyway). The spawn glitch was a disaster that rendered the game nearly unplayable, but easily fixed in the next one. And the mandatory weapons classes voted on was a disaster as well (explosives everytime, really?). All of these issues are easy fixes. Fix those, and TC would have been a huge success. So I will take a chance on TC2. Especially because of splitscreen 4 player. I have been waiting for that (I skipped QoS because no one else was buying it, but TC2 will sell enough to make it worth while) and no splitscreen has been my biggest complaint about the other shooters so far. Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? Post by: MEX on March 31, 2010, 12:45:19 pm I agree Ohio. All these issues that Conduit had like the spawn glitch can be fixed for the sequel. They might also wanna add a lobby system lol. I mean I don't think it's that hard to freakin' make a lobby system right? I really don't care if the sequel doesn't support Wii Speak at all so that will free up some bandwidth right there. Maybe we can get 12 players online now like COD?
Also 4 player splitscreen is great because now I can finally play with my friends and family! All this time i've been mostly playing online while the other 3 of my wii remotes are collecting dust! Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? Post by: [F5]Wegzyzz on March 31, 2010, 04:36:41 pm ^wawii has 8, mwr has 10
like others i'll see how it goes first. also on tcon they had weapon caches for unlimited nades and ammo... no, just no... thats a joke. I remember there always had to be one side that would camp near where they spawn with unlimited everything. also the lock on... eh no thnx. as much as I loved using it for some things such as getting pistol kills across maps n stuff it kinda messes everythin up. I hope they keep the thing where you push the button and you can see where the person is and it tells you the distance, but i hope they take part where it locks your aim. SEGA Unveils Conduit 2 For Wii, First Screens High Voltage Software gearing up for sequel. by Jim Reilly LATEST IMAGES View all 3 images March 31, 2010 - First revealed in Nintendo Power, Conduit 2 will be released this Fall exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. Along with a standard single-player and multiplayer online modes, Conduit 2 will also include online and offline cooperative play. One of these new co-op modes, titled Team Invasion Mode, allows up to four players to play online together or offline on four-way split screen. The game allows up to 12 players to battle online and includes Wii Speak compatibility. "Conduit 2 is an enormous sequel. Not only does it greatly improve and expand on the original, the online and co-op play modes aim to raise the bar for Wii war games," said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America. "The support for the original has been amazing." said Eric Nofsinger, HVS Chief Creative Officer. "The fans have always been a major factor in our development process and their continued enthusiasm has helped make Conduit 2 even better." "The Conduit was the first of many original IP's being developed by our studio." said Kerry J. Ganofsky, CEO and founder of High Voltage Software. "That's why it gives me great pleasure to announce a sequel with a thrilling and exciting online experience." The first Conduit title sold modestly, shipping 150,000 units worldwide during its launch week. Ganofsky told IGN in February the game has gone on to sell over 350,000 copies since then. High Voltage Software is also working on another title, The Grinder, a multiplatform game due out late next year. The Grinder was originally a Wii exclusive title before it was revealed it would also be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. (http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/108/1080551/inline_1270055263.jpg) This is 4 player offline and can possibly be co-op mode or just regular vs. mode! (http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/108/1080551/the-conduit-2-20100331100926558_640w.jpg) Screenshot of 1 player story mode. (http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/108/1080551/the-conduit-2-20100331100930636_640w.jpg) It looks like they are having a blast! ;) I have to admit after finding out about Co-op mode being offline AND online, 12 player online, and the fact Team Invasion is just one of a few more co-op mode types of online or offline games I am getting a serious hard-on for Conduit 2. Title: Re: Conduit 2 Confirmed For Wii! Yay?? Post by: the KR3AT3R on April 01, 2010, 11:44:26 am The split screen is a plus, but on the top of the priority list should have been a public announcement that they addressed the spawn glitch issue, as well as improving their retarded voting lobby system. I definately won't get it if I can't pick and choose the weapons I am comfortable with.
Title: Re: Official Conduit 2 News Topic: UPDATED 4/1: New dookie Revealed! Post by: MEX on April 01, 2010, 12:01:58 pm Well let's cross our fingers that they did fix that crap in the sequel. They listen to their customers so maybe we should e-mail them these concerns. The game is out this fall so they have plenty of time to fix that.

MOHH2 is really fun and the graphics suck. But you shouldnt make a second part of a game if the graphics are the same. That is sucking. Title: Re: Official Conduit 2 News Topic: UPDATED 4/1: New dookie Revealed! Post by: laughing turd on April 01, 2010, 07:24:01 pm I think the graphics rival MWii's in a lot of areas. For example, the reflections off the metal armor and the glow off the computer screens. It looks decent enough in Conduit2 and at least it seems that the devs really utilized an engine specifically tailored for Wii. In contrast, all the gold guns in CoD have a matte-like effect. They dont shine or reflect light and as such they are dubbed "butter guns." Also, if you look at the tv screens and stuff you might find in the campaign, its just a static image of the "technical difficulties" screen that stations have (the one with different colored bars). The tv doesnt appear to give off any light either. Plus, colors just seem more vibrant overall.
Oh yeah and I dont think there is so much more you can do graphically on the wii. If the Conduit and MWR pushed the Wii then the peak of graphical improvement has probably been reached. Title: Re: Official Conduit 2 News Topic: UPDATED 4/1: New dookie Revealed! Post by: OhioLawyer on April 02, 2010, 07:40:58 am well I will buy it just for the splitscreen even if they don't fix spawn glitch and weapon voting because none of that matters offline. If online still sucks, I'll just stick with MWR for online. O0

Title: Re: Official Conduit 2 News Topic: UPDATED 4/1: New dookie Revealed! Post by: MEX on April 19, 2010, 11:03:45 am IGN has a first look on the game: http://wii.ign.com/articles/108/1084008p1.html
What I got from reading it....... - A lot of new weapons will be in this game (like this one gun that absorbs bullets or this one machine that you can use while camping) - More enemies in the battlefield - More better graphics - You can use your own weapon set like in COD (so I guess this means no more voting for weapon classes! Yay!) - You can climb ladders, go up stairs (Yes this game will have multiple floors in one building now), and take cover by flipping over tables. - There will be boss battles - The ASE will return - Some doors require certain hand gestures from your wii mote to open (http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/108/1084008/the-conduit-2-20100415105251423-000.jpg) Expect prettier graphics. (http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/108/1084008/the-conduit-2-20100415052517969-000.jpg) One of the new guns in the game that absorbs bullets and then fires them all once it's fully charged. 1. They need to fix all the glitches and bugs, or at least what they can. I don't have to explain why. 2. They need to read a book on level design. Ditch the copypasta hallways and square rooms, give it some color and interesting objects. Maybe they should look at Halo or Unreal Tournament. 3. Ditch the aimbot. No, that's NOT aim assist. It was complete BS in TC that took no skill at all which made it so incredibly boring to play. I felt like I was hacking. 4. No one likes constant explosive matches. Make it so that in public matches you can only play the same guns/map once in a row or something. 5. Fix the massive FPS drop online when you have a lot of people. If they manage to fix most of that, I will buy it. Until I know what other people think, no dice. 4. Fix the massive FPS drop. Title: Re: Official Conduit 2 News Topic: UPDATED 4/19: New dookie Revealed! Post by: Turboweasle on May 14, 2010, 03:42:03 pm When I saw an article on The Conduit 2 in GameInformer's May issue, I knew that, if anyone cared, it would be the guys at WiiUnite. So... here's what GI knows:
Platform- Wii Style- 1-Player Shooter (12 Player Online) Publisher- Sega (lulz) Developer- High Voltage Software Release- Fall The article: The Conduit was not the FPS savior High Voltage promised Wii owners. Despite tepid critical reception, The Conduit was impressive on a technical level..."for a Wii game." This very caveat stokes developer High Voltage's drive to shove an improved sequel in the faces of its critics. According to High Voltage, the basic framework of the first Conduit - motion control - is among the Wii's best. "While Nintendo may cringe a bit, there's certainly something analogous to holding the pointer and firing a weapon," says Conduit 2 producer Josh Olson. "It feels good." With taht in place the team is focusing on overhauling almost everything else. Enemies in The Conduit were dumb, and High Voltage has the fix. Enemies no longer seek shelter behind combustible barrels and promptly fire upon their flammable cover. Now the more realistic adversaries idly chat or work on computers until you make your violent entrance. Once engaged, heavily armored enemies with shotguns charge, while lightly protected snipers attack from afar. Combine this with their ability to wield any weapon, and you've got targets at least more dangerous than those in Duck Hunt. Not only are the enemies smarter, but they also look better thanks to High Voltage's focus on honing Conduit 2's art style. Randomly generated armor ensures that the fools populating your crosshairs never look too similar. Boss enemies like a raging Leviathan showcase a level of detail unlike anything in the first game, and Siberian robot wolves and 30-foot tall Atlantis guardians help provide much needed enemy variety. The Conduit concluded with protagonist Michael Ford chasing John Adams (the alien controlling the U.S., not the president) through a portal. In order to prevent Adams' global domination in the sequel, Ford must enlist the help of other aliens across the globe. Yep, it's still ridiculous. To do so, he must venture beyond Washington DC to face the foes of Russia, Atlantis, and beyond. Where some Wii owners see The Conduit as a generic FPS, Sega and High Voltage see a young franchise with tons of potential. After less than a year, High Voltage is once again promising a Wii FPS that stands toe-to-toe with its beefier console brethren. Let's hope they get it right this time. And that's that. My thoughts: The problem wasn't with the enemy AI. Hell, nearly every FPS has dumb-as-a-sack-of-potatoes enemies charging at you while their allies hurl grenades straight at their own feet. The problem was the online, and considering that the online was the main boasting point of TC (intended to be the main boasting point, I should say) it's a pretty big deal that, within six weeks of its release, TC had been hacked and exploited beyond recognition. I shudder to think what it must be like now. Seeing Sega as publisher once more screams stupidity to me. If HVS wants Ninty's honest support (and they'll need it if they truly intend to "crack down harder on hackers"), they shouldn't sign a contract with Ninty's fading rival. Pick a neutral party or Ninty itself, for God's sake. I realize that the grownups in the gaming industry should be above rivalry, but I'm ever the skeptic, especially with the gaming industry. The improved graphics are a nice change of pace, and the change in scenery will be welcome to my eyes for sure. I got tired of blown-up streets and metal laboratories. Bosses are also a nice addition. And like Lawyer said, once you got to actually play the online portion smoothly, without glitches or hackers, it was a blast. But that's almost like saying, "Yeah, Bolivia's a nice place to vacation if the native aren't overthrowing their government when your plane lands." From what I've read in this topic, I see that Condy may make an honest comeback. But with a $50 price tag, I'm not sure I'm willing to play Conduit version 1.1. 1. It will remain 12 player online 2. New enemies (duh) 3. Lots of outside environments 4. Enemies are smarter and can use any gun. (Let's say you kill a sniper and some guy nearby who is using an smg decides to pick up the dropped weapon and snipe you instead) 5. Enemies will have randomly generated armors so no more clones. 6. They revealed a few locales like Atlantas and some other areas, but I forgot their names :P Title: Re: Official Conduit 2 News Topic: UPDATED 6/08: New dookie Revealed!
