Title: Goldeneye Discussion Topic w/ Videos
Post by: The Krazy One on July 23, 2010, 09:21:52 pm
This topic is now about discussing information about the game. You can also post videos and discuss them also. This is an off-screen single player video from a while ago so it may be a little dark.

It has some elements from COD, but it still has the same guns, characters, and multiplayer modes that COD can't copy like melee only, paintball mode, and golden gun mode.

That is a new map they were playing at right? The game looks fun! We may have to ban Oddjob from being a playable character when we play WU games :P

Lakkus: In the video you posted about GameSpot I believe they mentioned something about sims being allowed to play in multiplayer games. Too lazy to see the video again though.

WarMarine: Yeah you can use the Gamecube controller for this game. It was confirmed in the video that Lakkus posted about GameSpot.

Goldeneye - developer interview
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIZ8zQztpkg&feature=player_embedded

- Pretty much says stuff we already know about.

- You can do more objectives if you increase the difficulty.

- About 8-9 hours for the campaign.

- 10 maps in total for splitscreen and online.

- Maps are larger when playing online (Some doors that were closed are now open)

- Melee only you have big hands

- 200 different options that you can do when playing!

- Lots of COD stuff like ranking up xp, unlocking perks, and doing objectives.

- Game supports Classic Controller (Pro), Gamecube controller, Wii Zappper, and wimmote + nunchuck.

- Both Nintendo and Activision decided to collaborate on the Golden Classic Controller.

Looks like it's packed with content. Split-Screen and online multi-player. I wonder if you do split-screen and online at the same time. No confirmation of number of players online but it would appear that it's capped at 8.

25 weapons
8 characters
17 game-modes
10 maps

The last three messages above this were from the "Goldeneye Multiplayer" topic Somebody114 had made on the Wii General board. All I did was merge that topic into this one so he and the others that posted could retain their posts from that topic while moving a video that hadn't been posted here yet.

I'm just trying to explain it in a way where "sexy" and everyone else that reads his post doesn't look stupid.  O0

It was weird since when I was looking on GoNintendo (where I got the pics), some of the comments favored the EU cover art.

Well, here's a video that I believe may be new. I haven't watched it yet since my brother brought his kids over right when I was about to watch.

Apparently, if you pre-order at GameStop you will get invincibilty mode for off-line splitscreen and if you pre-order at Best Buy you will get Tag Mode for off-line split-screen. Both modes actually look very fun!

Oh and here is the boxart for when you purchase the game with the golden classic controller pro.

Here it is without the control so I guess there will be two separate box arts.

If you pre-order Goldeneye off Wal-Mart then you will get this Oddjob t-shirt.

Personally I think this is the best of the three deals because the codes will eventually be out on the internet while these Oddjob t-shirts will become a collectable item. I guess i'll be pre-ordering mine off Walmart.

New video!!

Confirms a lobby system AND you can see tons of the multiplayer modes that you can play.

Where in that video did it confirm a lobby system? That was solely a splitscreen video.

One of the guys in the video says they are adding a lobby system. You had to pay attention. He syas it at 24 seconds into the video.

it's kinda funny to me that split screen is a big deal

why the hell did they quit putting that in games in the first place?

Title: Re: Goldeneye Discussion Topic w/ Videos
Post by: MEX on September 23, 2010, 11:26:40 am
iknorite? They just all believed online was the future and dumped split-screen altogether. Glad to see Goldeneye and Conduit 2 bringing spli-screen back on the Wii.

That right this game is split screen hmm its moving up on my list of games to get now.  Will it have all the online features in local?

Title: Re: Goldeneye Discussion Topic w/ Videos
Post by: MEX on September 24, 2010, 09:08:53 am
Yes. The maps will be smaller since it's only for 4 players, but all the maps and features should be for off-line as well. When you play online the maps will be bigger (previously locked doors will be open, garage doors will be open, etc.).

 :-[
everything I'm seeing about this game is starting dissapoint me...
well, mainly the fact that the maps look like CONDUIT type maps...

Part of why COD is so much funner is the fact that you can fight in pretty much any open area, and there will be a random tree or car to hide behind for a second...that is a great feature...

Most of the 007 maps look the same way, as CONDUIT that is...Just big ol open areas, with no random cover spots...

And dont get me wrong, I will still be getting the game...eventually :-\

Maps Trailer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpHsK7KPajs

New Multiplayer mode: Classic Conflict Mode- http://wii.ign.com/articles/112/1124911p1.html (http://wii.ign.com/articles/112/1124911p1.html)
- take control of one of eight of the legend characters
- Jaws, Oddjob, Baron Samedi, Dr. No, Scaramanga, Red Grant, Rosa Klebb and Blofeld
- when you are killed, you respawn with a randomly selected character (from the 8 classic ones)
- immediately unlockable by purchasers of the Classic Edition bundle via a one-time use code that comes with the Golden Classic Controller Pro
- standard edition owners can unlock the mode by reaching level 35 in online multiplayer
^Info above from GoNintendo: http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=138003 (http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=138003)

New control scheme mimics N64 controls, Uses Wii Remote & Nunchuk, No sensor bar:
This is the strangest thing I've heard in awhile. GoldenEye is going to have a control scheme that actually mimics what GoldenEye played like on the N64. Check out this weirdness...

- no sensor bar usage, so no IR pointing
- all character movement handled by Nunchuk
- control stick works just like it did in the original GoldenEye
- Press A to strafe
- control scheme came about when Eurocome was urged by Nintendo to innovate on the controls
- Mario Club in Europe helped with the process
^Info from GoNintendo: http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=137755 (http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=137755)

I'm surprised that this info hasn't been posted yet.

This video is of the snow level in single player.

Some details: http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=138502
- Five Wiimote (pointer) presets, one custom
- select one or go to advanced options for dead zone, turning speed and more
- Barcelona Dance Club level features Deadmau5 & Kaskade – “I Remember”, directly from DJ Hero 2 (special collab)
- Big reveal on main theme for the OST soon
- New "beginners" control mode: Wiimote, Nunchuk, but no pointer. Auto-aiming and hold A for side stepping.
- Every user chooses control method in multiplayer, then you customize everything (buttons layout, etc).
- Cannot change advanced pointer features (dead zone, etc), which comes from single mode config
- Wiimote pointer control scheme standard inputs: C for crouch, A for run, - for reload, + for grenades (or Oddjob hat), Z for precise aiming, 1 for pause menu and 2 for multiplayer status, D pad for weapon change, smartphone. Nunchuk shake for melee/stealth moves
- 'classic' difficulty mode with the classic health bar and no auto-healing

I was wondering if anyone else saw the IGN charity event when they streamed themselves playing Goldeneye Multiplayer at 8am pacific and 9pm pacific (11am est & 12am est)? I saw the one at midnight on Sunday. It showed off some of the maps, modes and such. Craig Harris was using the Wii Remote & Nunchuk while the other 3 used the CCPro.

The build being used was from September.
It seemed like Craig was ADSing (Aiming down the sight) a lot which didn't help him for like the first 30 minutes. Then he had gotten a loadout with a specific gun that he ended up winning 2 games with. The 4th player was mostly using Baron Samedi. He has this laugh on the character select screen. The 4th player won almost every game they played other than the ones lost against Harris. I know someone was using Oddjob and got a few kills with the hat throw.

The maps they played on were Facility, I think Archives, Outpost, Docks, Memorial, Industrial and Jungle. They played Golden Gun, You only live twice (last mode they played), Singularity (you run into someone, you explode), Paintball, Melee (melee only w/ big hands, looked funny), I think they did Hot Shot once(head shots only) and Move Your Feet once (stand still for 3 seconds and die/explode.

There is no jumping. You can vault over stuff like in Call of Duty (you guys knew this). You can climb on boxes and stuff. Only the Wii Remote & Nunchuk control setup has leaning available (when ADS). There is also a loadout with just the RPG. After a shot, it seemed like it took a while to load another shot in there. I tried to count how long it took but it was hard enough doing that. It was probably 3 seconds (or longer, not completely sure).

That is all I can remember from it.

A new Goldeneye interview that reveals one brand new thing. You can have the classic health like in the N64 version if you want to by changing the settings of the game. That means no health regeneration.
