Title: NDS' Top 5 MoH Players of All Time
Post by: NDS IS POPPIN on August 17, 2010, 05:37:57 pm
THIS IS STRICTLY FOR MY N.I.G.G.A.Z. WHO I THOUGHT WERE GOOD AT MOH

I've been checking the MoH board and nothing has been going on. So here's a thread I'm posting because I want it to become huge. Why? I want to hear the flames, arguments, and debates as to where certain players were placed on my list. I want to hear how some people don't even deserve being on this list (which will be hilarious considering the list is nothing more than my opinion). Yes, this list reflects my honest opinion as to who I thought was the best of the best. However, considering I made the thread in about 2 minutes, expect potential changes/edits although I'm certain that my top 3 will remain static.

As we all know, MoH had truly died during the first quarter of last year (2009, in case a mothafucka reading this in 2013). The clans that mattered had moved on to playing other Wii games, while players, like myself, simply abandoned the Wii altogether for other consoles, such as the Xbox 360. Even after this migration, a handful of veterans still played MoH and they could obviously tell the game wasn't the same anymore; the number of online players dropped in average. There was almost no challenge anymore considering the absence of countless great players (which also means that just because you're not on my top 5 list doesn't mean I don't consider you great). The only challenge for them was finding a different game to play.

Considering the huge amount of time that has passed after the death of MoH's true competition scene, I've decided to create a list. As a former tester of F5, I decided who was allowed to be in the clan and I had a strong eye as to what was considered a good player and whatnot. Using that same criteria, and personal experience while playing against these guys, here is my list of mothafuckas who just stuck out to me. Even with the major differences in opinion, these are the five guys who deserve to be on everyone's lists because they are honestly the best of the best.

* Things to make clear before reading:

  • Yes, this list is in a particular order
  • All of these guys are people who were great with multiple weapons. I'm not wasting my time with "best (gun here) user" male cattle dung. With that being said, don't assume I think that these guys could use all weapons better than anyone else; MessakiN would murder all of these guys in a shotgun battle, even if all these guys were beasts with the shotgun too. (for example).

5. F5Wonka

          4. Tyson

                    3. SoL Ocelot Z

                              2. Biochicken

                                        1. HaggertyLaX

If this thread is 'successful' I'll add individual descriptions as to why I think these guys are the best. In the mean time, discuss. Flame. Troll. Spam. Do whatever. Post your own top 5 if you'd like. And remember as I said, "just because you're not on my top 5 list doesn't mean I don't consider a lot of you great."

In all honesty by the time I came around all the guys you listed were long gone. I'd rather not make a list myself for fear of making a fool of myself (yeah its ironic considering what I do here, **** off) but the best I've played would include Bantha, Maddog and Tigerfear. Those always stick out in my head.

5. F5Wonka

Without a doubt.  I remember the first time I played him was in a scrimmage with F5.  He completely destroyed everyone who came within one hundred feet of him.  Unreal.

Quote
4. Tyson

Wish I could have played him more.  The only memory I have of playing him was in a Sewers DM I made near the end of MoH's competitive life.  Even though he hadn't played in weeks, he came in third or second with a Garand or some ish like that.  Was very impressive.

Quote
3. SoL Ocelot Z

Occie <3

My first clan war was with SoL against CZ (Clan Zero for you newfags), in which Occie pulled our team.  I'm pretty sure he was the only one who went positive in any of the matches.  Huge respect for that MP40.  And who can forget MoH Ashely?

Quote
2. Biochicken

Probably the best sniper that ever played the game, no question.  He also had an incredible Thompson.

Quote
1. HaggertyLaX

My first and only memory of Haggs was when you, NDS, and he alted into SoL.  I was stupid enough to try you guys out 2 vs. 1...

Spent most of the match hiding because I knew that showing myself at all would mean death.

My personal top five:

5.  Bio
4.  Ingsmasha
3.  Barricade
2.  Wonka
1.  Agas-- #1 in our hearts, mirite?

The best.

I would rather go back to that time where I got my ass handed to me in every server than any other time in MoH's life.  At some point, I just lost the drive to get better.

Damn, now I'm getting hit by a nostalgia wave.  =/

Now now, you were good too. Give yourself some credit. I actually remember making a shout-out thread where I mentioned you for your skill. You were and always have been underrated (is that IRS one word or two?), which has led you to think that you can't keep up with 'elites' such as them. But I know for a fact that you could, so don't trip honey. You were a cute little monster who always got his fair share of kills.

And regardless of opinion, all that mattered in the end anyways, in terms of 'skill', was who could put on a consistent and good performance in clan wars to help their clan win. Everything else is, was, and always will be just for fun. The players who always did great in clan wars, no matter what, are the ones who can call themselves the best and I wouldn't argue or debate with them at all knowing in my mind they are right.

The thing is, I think I like thinking of myself as not being able to compete with them.

That's what still makes MoH:H2 great to this day: the way we remember it.  I remember those guys as being untouchable when I fought them, and that's what makes it so damn amazing.  It's got a sense of magic to it, like The Chronicles of Narnia did for us when we were young.

I love remembering them as being unnaturally good, to the point where you almost couldn't believe that they were real.  I think that's what made me keep at it even though I was never going to be as good as they were.

I've never had that attitude about anything since MoH.  Frankly, I don't care about how good I am at anything anymore.  Now I don't get into flame wars over who's better than who, but I don't have that passion for the game like I did.

I want to go back to January '08 and get my ass kicked more times than I can count.  I'd go through the hell that was 10th grade again just for that chance.  Fracking nostalgia.  ;_;

So you're the same age as me, huh? I always thought you were older because, well... I like acting retarded online and I'm 17, so with your higher level of maturity, I thought you were a couple years older or something.

You have no idea how bad I would want to go back to that time though. Leaving high school sucks on its own (not because of the learning, **** that ****; I refer to a lot of my friends that I probably won't be seeing). I want to go back to January '08 just as bad as you do, and MoH is only one reason. :(

I turned 18 a few months ago, so we're not too far apart.  I always thought you were older, too.  D:

Leaving high school sucks so much.  If life were a game, high school would have been the tutorial where you got used to everything.  I'm going to miss not having any serious responsibilities.  =/

Most of my close friends are staying close to home, so I won't have that to worry about.  I actually visited my high school yesterday to say hi to my favorite teachers and classmates.  Those underclassmen grow up so fast.  :'(

However I agree with everything you said in that post, everything. Except I didn't go to my highschool, it hasn't opened.. but I don't think I would go back anyways considering I didn't hang out with kids who were a year or two younger, but only friends in my own grade.

everything is gravy till about 25. then all the girls you know start getting pudgy, pregnant, and married.

anyway, i can't comment on who was the best back then. i showed up at GF's a few months after the release I think but never joined a clan. i just played w/ a bunch of good players and was never much better than average against all you guys. i just enjoyed playing w/ the better players cuz it gets boring playing against randoms. the one person that sticks out in my mind from back the is SB114 though. he's the reason i went to GF's cuz i swore he was cheating some how and i wanted to find out what he was doing so i started looking around and found the gamespot forums which turned into GF's then WU.

everyone join me and mum's game this sunday night btw.  8)

ADAMZ unarguable list:

Im only going to do the top 3, because thats all that matters.

1. Ladam007kid
2. BangYaDead
3. Mosher

I couldn't put them in order, so number reflects nothing. The fact that their listed shows their unarguable talent and anyone that doesn't agree is just a hugefathater.

Ill expect to see your list edited within 24 hours.

Very good list. I never played Haggs so I can't comment on that, and I played Wonka once when he was rusty, but the other three were really good and at least Top 10 for me. I'd say Somebody114 should be at least Top 5, the mothafucka (in the words of NDS, haha) would **** on anyone in his prime, around April/May 08. Noobfarming in JTR's Cash Dm and going +42 or whatever was what put it over the top for me.

Obviously, opinions are opinions, though.  O0

I don't think I was around long enough to make a list that great but here are my opinions. Flame away.

5. Ressurected (I know this is a lawl but he beasted me a lot of times)
4. cronnuggs (Truly underrated because he was a newer player. I admired him more when he used the Stg44 which he was better at anyways)
3. Biochicken
2. Chizzle
1. Auswitch Gas (spelling?)

Chizzle was more bar and Thommy, and murderous with both, but what stood out about him was how got damn hard he was to kill, and I don't just mean that he would shoot you first and you couldn't kill him, I mean he could be surrounded by 3-5 guys (taking fire) and still take a fat dump on them all. 8)

isn't spitz related to chizzle or something?

and Ress is good. he doesn't get enough credit like he should. that kid has some good aim on MoH. i've seen him run his score up in almost any situation... using a Garand at that.

i really loved playing w/ chizzle on a regular basis. he was my favorite teammate and opponent cuz we played a lot alike and we both used the tommy. we had a lot of epic 1v1 moments... that he usually won.  ;)

I won't lie, I loved playing with people like WiiSir, WelshFury, an eggroll, runman, stivo, the old Sewers rats from Summer 08. Not the best players, but they had so much character and really helped make what the community was. Just seeing familiar faces gradually get better and better was awesome. Someone like Chizzle who was above average and better than me get better and better to the point where he took a shat on any of the people that still played.

I'd post a top 5 but I honestly forget the names of most people I played when I started in March.

I remember trying to out-snipe Dreidle through the Allies' big barn door in Village.  I remember a dummy glitching through the Sunnyside house in Village.  I remember Obryan and Aguirre from Dragonsly's games.  I remember saladin ali and bantha destroying my team with their STG's.  There was atillaBad's Thompson.  Undrclsshero's STG.

Honestly, it all too vague.

Can't really make a GREAT list from in-game experience because I was in a bad clan (TKO no offense to TKO) and also I didn't play a buttload of public matches.

Gosh, I wish Nintendo wasn't so stupid and developed the Wii online much better and developers would have developed better online games so everyone would stay on the Wii and the older players and I would still be playing it....those were some fun times. Bug's and Aredd's Ladder was 10x as fun and exciting as Gamebattles.

My top 5 from in-game experience (in no particular order) Ocelot Z, JBBANNANAZ, Aredd, banthaPudu, JTRamboman

yeah this is how i spent most of my time. I loooooooooooove those epic ctf where its deadlocked and neither team want to budge. This is the only game Ive played where fronts develop on the field and the only way to get through them is a delicate balance of throwing bodies at the front continually while having just a few guys flank the other side as best they can and sneak the flag out. I really really like village ctf man.

Title: Re: NDS' Top 5 MoH Players of All Time
Post by: Permanent Poopface on August 19, 2010, 12:51:45 pm
village ctf was also my favorite mode, I loved just trying to hold down the ammo shacks as long as I could (5seconds) because if you controlled those 99% of the time it was a win

Title: Re: NDS' Top 5 MoH Players of All Time

seriously, village CTF is the best mode on MoH. I never understood why people didn't like it more than say Monastary DM/TDM or whatever. i thought it was boring running around just playing for kills. I like the team effort involved in village CTF.

lemmy guess though, you didn't play village games w/ nades on did you Turd?  :P

I'm gonna squeeze in at least one round w/ nades on this sunday. I don't care wtf you guys say.  >:D

Title: Re: NDS' Top 5 MoH Players of All Time
Post by: Turboweasle on August 19, 2010, 12:54:25 pm
And the ammo glitch in CTF was epic.

All the noobs would rush in while I was sitting in the corner.  They'd realize I was there, but too late, because I had already shot them and they had already stepped on the ammo ring.  XD

Title: Re: NDS' Top 5 MoH Players of All Time
Post by: OhioLawyer on August 19, 2010, 12:59:02 pm
I didn't like CTF because in public games the noobs don't know how to play and/or refused and would treat them as TDMs.

So I found it stupid and frustrating to attempt to play CTFs in public games.  They were cool for clan matches and private matches, but since they sucked in pubs, and most of the time was NOT in organized matches, it just made more sense to focus on TDMs.

LMAO Turbo. I did that a few times. Then you would always get the two morons who thought it was a good idea to stand in the corner and spam grenades at the door so nobody could get in. That was the dumbest thing ever.

Lakk I preferred the no nade ones but I took them how they came. I just hated that it always boiled down to both teams fighting for the house and spamming endless grenade waves at the spawn. I still played in those anyway.

I love no nade games, IMO it takes more skill, but then again it does take skill to have to look out for guns and nades , only problem I had with no nades in village is it was very hard to get around with good snipers playing

ya k sewers ctf no nades games were a blast because you were always running and looking every direction and it made you use like 5 different weapons before you would die, not a game for campers unless your a kechua ass sniper who doesn't jump down, those games seriously got my heart beating fast

I would do this with Pip actually. We would go down there and hold the houses down all on our own while the whole other team came running and our own damn team just effed around. We used the Gewehr though and it was not real sniping but more noscoping.

If he was not there I would just dive in with the shotgun and mow over as many as i could while, again, my team just jacked off in the stable.  b)

Most of my time though was spend going for the flag and I got quite good at sneaking it out under the radar while everyone was fighting it out all over the place.

Title: Re: NDS' Top 5 MoH Players of All Time
Post by: Cadillak on August 19, 2010, 01:19:40 pm
pffftttt. i could get around village just fine. you just can't go in certain places if there are good snipers around. if there were good snipers, i'd just switch to the springy and take em out a few times till they quit camping that spot. and I loved doing the red x dance dodging nades on the radar. i also loved using nades. i could hit anyone anywhere within half a map's distance in village almost every time. i loved raining nades from the second floor into the big house where all the snipers would camp cuz you could a get a few kills almost every time.

my favorite thing was always going fuckin rambo n **** all by myself returning flags. there's nothing better than returning a flag all the way across the map by yourself and taking out like 10-20 guys on the way. most rewarding feeling in MoH IMO LOL OMG ROFL LOLWUT!!1!1!!

Title: Re: NDS' Top 5 MoH Players of All Time
Post by: the KR3AT3R on August 19, 2010, 01:25:04 pm
Mnopoly was good as hell at sneaking a flag away too.

And yes, Dave, about sewer ctf's. You had to learn to use every weapon since the weapon cashe only worked once, so if you finished the ammo from one gun you picked up the nearest thing and squeezed the trigger.

Sewers no nade ctf's ftw, amirite Dave. ^-^

Good times. 8)

those were the worst modes in the game.  Since sewers had a spawn point that was unreachable by the map, it promoted camping terribly and the enemy basically could not be reached.  I don't know how many of those games I went into and I was the only one on either side who actually left the spawn area to attempt to get the flag.  You HAD to have nades in that map just to have a way to flush out the noobs sniping from the spawn area.

Title: Re: NDS' Top 5 MoH Players of All Time
Post by: Permanent Poopface on August 19, 2010, 01:29:48 pm
ya holding down the ammo shacks in village is a blast but i'd have to say my favorite part to try to hold down with a team on any map would be that L shaped hallway in mon'... nah just kidding , it would be that big ass warehouse in base, the upper level to be exact, you know I wished more people played more base because that would probably of been my favorite map its just I didn't have a chance to play it much because its super kechua with not enough players

oo at first i thought you were referring to when the enemy team has you squeezed in your spawn and none of your teamates would jump down, I hated that, you had to jump off super fast and go straight for the side drop off area or jump down to run up the oiltanks where the flag was and play ring around the rosey, I feel you on the snipers though I would just stay out of there line of sight because from up there there is only certain spots they can aim

MoH Memory Thread.

I always remembered the good Sewers CTF WITH nades and I always remember Hoverball huckin' them into meh face.

I never really liked the Village.  I don't know why.  If I ever played I'd be Allies and I'd snipe from the house with trees, and pick little noobs off who were trying to snipe.  When I played Village I never used no scopes unless someone snuck in behind me.  Village was all scoping for me.

Byeeee is obviously the one that did the most spawn-sniping in Sewers which was annoying as hell. I enjoyed Village CtF if I had at least 2 good teammates. We could usually rack in a couple of flags. My highest scores were in Monastery DM/TDM but the best games were CtF Village or Sewers for me. Even though the map isn't symmetrical, I wish they would've had CtF on Base. I think Lakkus mentioned some people he played CtF with, you missed LUIGITIME. I had some great games with him.

village was and still is my fav map

i either go kamikazi with thommy or springy in other base

snipe with gehwer at axis beast in the building of behind the brick wall

when i rush with thommy, i know this beast spot that gets them every time,

the most fun thing to do in village is go to the little house in their base w/ a shotty or karb and just run around that house like a mad man popping people in the face when they come around the corner. i used to love doing that till i had half their team chasing me.  >:D

I loved port, but village ctf as well. As turd said we would hold both sides it was pretty sweet.

I also loved to rambo with the gewher see how many kills i could get.

And ewell i would add crzy89 on list

I can concur with crzy on the list.  He was mainly a thompson user, but was good with any weapon.  And he went through a spell there where he would main the Garand just to show everyone he could own with that gun too. O0

oh yeah lmao dude! I forgot about doin that ****! It always had me rolling and lmao when you would see a whole damn team running behind you spamming their guns. You could easily get 50 kills in a short while if you had enough noobs in a game and did that. Shotty is the best thing ever man. Too many lol's

That was a huge argument back in the day about tubes.  the zooks could be shot rught at your own feet in CQC and it would kill the enemy and not the shooter.  It was very cheap and everyone hated the tube so much.

Like all of these lists, it's based on opinion and more importantly when/where you played.

I played almost 90% of my games as Allies Village and City TDM. After the game died down, port always had lots of players.  I hardly ever played against or with any of you regularly until I joined WU.

Anyway, these players stand out to me:

Legend Hero: he owned the village with his springy and he played for the Allies
Sir2busy: Dominated port matches with his gewher
Red used to tear me up in the City

others of course I remember playing with, but not enough to say who was better.

Well, never isn't the right word.  Most of the time you can dodge them.  You can filter games with no boom.  Now, you don't get any games..lol

But, back in the day there were tons of games up, and a lot of those games were no boom.  You just had to find them.

Wonderful nostalgia NDS, and I couldn't agree more with the list. Out of all of them I wish I played with Oce and Haggy more. Oce always kicked my ass in the ole Village CTF games. 90% of my games were in that wonderful map/mode. I've played with a lot of good people, both old and new. Too bad the new MoH didn't make it to Wii. With EA's lobby systems, I'd give it a go if it brought back memories like these again.

There's something good about all of you and like NDS said, just because you weren't listed doesn't mean you're not good. ;)
Pretty sure this is de ja vu but my top 5 aka people who kicked my ass all the time (no order) are:

1.) Crzy - Shotgun, Thompson, snipers. He had the midas touch! He hated my suicide nades though.  O0
2.) AG - 2v2 with him and Wonka was like leaving your controller idle for 15 minutes. You're screwed either way.
3.) Ocelot- Memory nobody remembers. Ultimate 'Altillery' clan made my Rott and JBBANANAZ. We played SoL and Oce wooped asssssssssssss :D
4.) banthaPudu- He would just destroy in Village CTF. His final scores were like +40 and up.
5.)NDS - Yes, the few times we played, I couldn't kill you without having to pull out a Zook or nade :o

Yeah, NDS was a Monster. His Aggressiveness is what always stood out to me.  I still remember the time when he treated me and a bunch of wP members like fodder in
a sewer's game, and his great display in JTR's cash money tourney. To tell you the truth, the only time I remember killing this guy, was through male cattle dung sidelining lol.

Well I got this game in early 2009, so I didn't get the chance to play with all the earlier players... but I have a few that still stand out in my mind: (in no order)

1: Ressurected; he had an awesome Garand, and a good all around player
2: Teameat; had crazy accuracy with the zook
3: Havana1975?; great games with him at base and village, nice gewher
4: NDS; played him only once or twice, but he was a strong player all around
5: Biochicken; he used every weapon and made them look easy, especially his snipers
you're **** kidding me.

ya k sewers ctf no nades games were a blast because you were always running and looking every direction and it made you use like 5 different weapons before you would die, not a game for campers unless your a fruity ass sniper who doesn't jump down, those games seriously got my heart beating fast

We killed a few late nights there for sure Dave.  I'm with you, no nades CTF on sewers and nades on for Village, they were needed to flush out the snipers.

i have to agree a hundred percent with your original list nds except for maybe making it a top six or top five + one cuz i honestly think that somebody was just plain beast beyond beast if you feel me but good list non the less
You're right, SB114 was very good as well. He was good with the Springfield, meaning he honestly didn't even NEED to be a well-rounded player considering the Springfield handles all ranges. However, I strongly believe Wonka deserved the 5th spot over SB114 for various reasons I will edit in later when I'm not feeling lazy

LitDarkFire teamed up in Monastery DMs.  I thought he was pretty cool until him and a few others on this site teamed up in a noob DM that I entered upon seeing him.  Pathetic.

I saw him playing in a Mona DM with Sniper657 and some other person, all teaming up.  I remember this distinctly.

The lit darkfire I'm thinking of, his name is spelled just like that.  I always saw him in the Sewers.  Are you thinking of Darkfire139?

That's weird.   :-\

He was always Axis Rookie in the Sewers and all he did was no scope with the Gewher.

Had a lot of fun reading this topic.  I dont know If I'd be able to make an accurate top 5 list anymore.  Ive had way too much time away from it, hell If i even remember who I used to play with.

That said, since I'm here though I feel obligated to at least attempt a list.  And ill say i couldnt argue with NDS's choices whatsoever.  There are a lot more than 5 guys who i consider great in this game.  There are a lot who honestly i just didn't get to play with enough to justify giving them a spot on my list.  My list might not be so accurate because it will probably just be the first 5 dudes who i remember whooping my ass in CW's and I know that the next time I read this I will have changed my mind completely.  And after i make a list of 5, ill want to add 5 more, and 5 more.  And also, out of respect/love/pride  :-[ I feel like I shouldn't list any Sons of Liberty.  Those of you who knew me back in the day knew I put everything I had into SoL.  The clan came first, and everything else in my life was just minor details.  Therefore I would gladly make a list of just SoL players whether I know them to be better or worse, and would defend that opinion til the end.  Forgive me SoL, if you read this you know who you are.

So, as of right now if memory serves me right, in no particular order:

Agas-  A good friend, a great rival, like most of my MoH buddies I would consider putting on this list.  I remember after an AoW vs SoL skirmish where gfaqs and chatboxes were just filled with rival clansmen hating on eachother, arguing, accusing, bitching, just complete anger and bad blood, with me being right in the middle.  After most likely slandering him and his clan, I get a PM from AGas saying something like hey man we can figure this out peacefully.  Something you probably wouldn't have expected at the time.  As such, I hold AG in a very very high regard.  When I first started playing, he was one of my heroes, one of those dudes who you tried to play like.  And of all the elites ive seen play, ive seen a lot of AG.  For being in different clans I ended up playing in a lot of games, and we even teamed up a few times.  Competitive DM's, CTF's, clan wars, 2 v 2's you name it.  Not once did i ever feel superior to him in anyway.  AG was one of the beast of the beast  He used different guns just for the hell of it, and was extremely deadly with everything i remember him shooting me with.  AG was truly one of the best, one of the funniest, and a dire member of the MoH community.

JTRamboman-  JTR imo was like the hero of MoH.  He was deadly accurate, even tempered, and a beast with whatever weapon he felt like using.  I can remember seeing JTR in a village CTF back when i was still learning.  At one point i finally had the chance to come from behind and sidelined him and when i saw that i actually got the kill on JTRamboman, it was like christmas day.  In time I played a lot of elites, and quite a few elite games and CW's with JTR in them.  During that time i think i can count the times ive killed him on one hand.  No matter the weapons we used, he always had a jump on me.  When i first got to talk to JTR i was expecting some cocky im wT im JTRamboman bow to me kind of demeanor, and i was very wrong.  He wanted no part in stroking his ego.  I found out he was extremely humble, gratuitous, reasonable.  I looked up to his way of doing things, and when we got to actually chat and play friendly matches i had a lot of fun trying to stay on his level.  His skill along with his diplomacy gets mad respect in my book.

NDS- Havent forgot about you buddy.  I could talk about NDS all day long man, as much as he messed with me/ and or alted into my clan, he always kept me entertained.  I dont wanna hear your BS about u not being an elite or whatever, yes some others in F5 like sunday crzy wonka all messed me up on a number of occasions.  They might have got the best of you on a number of occasions too.  I choose you because of all the wars/scrims/2 v 2's, when we teamed up, you always seemed to know what you were doing.  I remember you always being on top of the leaderboard against me, i vaguely remember a sewers match where u were running away from me and a teammate, u were obviously damaged and we were hot on your trail, when all of the sudden i turn the corner and get snuffed followed by my teammate, im pretty sure it was a pistol too. It was almost like i should have seen it coming.  When u wanted to be, u were among the best of the best, when you didn't want to be, you were doing you, and i respect the hell out of that.

I'll get to the next two tommorrow im going to eat some munchies and pass out.
