Title: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Autumn1194 on July 16, 2012, 06:34:04 pm I am a scary movie junkie so in honer of Friday the 13th ( I know it's the 16th but bear with me) I would like to compile a list of scary movies that I have come to like over the years.
10. Exorcism of Emily rose - I didn't really think this movie was all that scary but that one scene where she turns her head around is freaking crazy! I remember the first time I saw that when I was a little girl :'( It scared the hell out of m! 9. Saw - You cannot watch any of these movies without getting mind ****! just when you think you have it all figured out they throw something crazy in and mess you up, and that clown on the bike is just terrifying and the way he says "GAME OVER" is creepy as eff. I hate watching this movie with people though because they are always like "omg I don't effing understand what the eff is going on" and I'm like "did you watch the other four" and they're like "no" then I say "gtfo". 8. The Grudge - This is one my biggest fears "A scary Japanese person that has a broken neck and can crawl on the wall!" The effing ending is what really scared me, when he sees the pictures and he's got a grudge on his shoulder THAT'S **** UP 7. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Any movie based on a true story makes it more important than a made up one but I never would have guessed people are this effing crazy! A guy that cuts peoples faces of and wears them?? that's taking it a little too far. I don't blame him though.....he is Texan. 6. George A. Romero - This guy has a fetish for zombies. He's made several films about the zombie apocalypse and even a zombie game on Call Of Duty! Some of his movies are very stupid but some of them like Dawn of the dead and Night of the living dead are great! 5. Pet Sematary - This movie had parents freaking out! jk idk about that but what would you do if your kid died and you knew of an indian burial site where you can bury someone that was once dead and they'll come back to life, would you do it? The only downside to that is the person you buried becomes demonic and wants to kill you. 4. Child's play - This is the movie of my childhood, it's the reason I slept with the light on, now my dolls want to kill me?? WTF!! that is male cattle dung. To this day I'm still scared of dolls. This does not include chucky's bride or seed of chucky though, those movies were freaking stupid! 3. Halloween - what is a scary movie topic without Halloween? the theme song itself deserves a spot. The story is about a girl that has a effed up crazy brother that hacked her father years ago and now that mofo is after her! and it always seems no matter how fast she runs he can just calmly walk and still catch up to her, that just makes no sense but it does make for a creepy movie. 2. Nightmare on Elm Street - This movie was an instant classic. It defied all scary movie guidelines, it used to be "don't be stupid" but now it's effing DON'T SLEEP or you're getting claws through your chest and that creepy effing song "1 2 freddy's coming for you" oh man I never thought a burn victim could be so scary. 1. Friday the 13th - In my opinion is one of the best horror films of all times. Not only has there been 11 films about the the demented murderer (all of which he died in) but the plot has always been the same also! and for some reason every movie did fairly well in the box office. I know most are thinking wow this movie doesn't deserve to be number 1 but think about it, every scary movie today has something from ft13th such as..... when someones getting kinky in bed they most likely are going to die, the dumb skanky girl always dies first, the nice innocent girl never dies, if someone thinks they killed the killer THEY ARE WRONG because that mofo is going to jump out at you and cut your head off in the next scene and the number one thing you see a lot is repeat stupidity. I would appreciate your input. ;) Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Red Fatality on July 16, 2012, 06:36:04 pm nice list there miss Autumn O0 Im impressed you put pet Sematary ill post my later when i have alot of time
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Gift on July 16, 2012, 07:16:08 pm Good list. ;)
1. High Tension/Haute Tension 2. Friday the 13th - Lol, I watched this **** all the time when I was a kid. Jason is a bad ass. I often rooted for him. I couldn't hate him. Then he always "dies" then in the sequel he's back, "I'm tired of these mother****ing teenagers in my mother****ing crystal lake". He's the reason I love machetes so much. That theme song is still one of the distant memories I have of sound before I lost my hearing. ki ki ki, ma ma ma 3. Halloween - I admit, I'm a huge Jason fan so I didn't catch these, even though they kinda kick started the thread, till later. But I enjoy them and Myers a lot. I was Myers for Halloween last year actually. Although Rob Zombie kinda made him seem a bit like a wuss in his remake. 4. Nightmare on Elm Street - Please die. This series is probably why I take Ambien to this day. :| 5. Chucky - For the same reason as you, I got GI Joes and ****. Combined with seeing Maximum Overdrive not too long after... yeah, bad combination. Of course, the best time to watch this series would be when you're younger for maximum effectiveness. 6. Pet Cemetery - It goes without saying this movie is just ****ing creepy. 7. Tales From The Crypt (Most Notably Demon Knight) 8. "Of The Dead" Series - Zombies. And, it has it's moments. 9. Mirrors - IDK why... but this was a little trippy. 10. The Hills Have Eyes 2 (Remake) Not because it's scary, but because it's probably one of the only movies I will refuse to watch. Which has nothing to do with the horror aspect, just a very disgusting scene. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Turboweasle on July 16, 2012, 07:21:02 pm Great topic. I love horror movies but don't know many of them beyond zombie ones (which really aren't even horror movies after a certain point *cough* Resident Evil *cough*).
I'm a huge fan of 28 Days Later. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Autumn1194 on July 16, 2012, 07:22:26 pm you're right! I forgot to mention the friday the 13th theme song :'(
The hills have eyes I thought was..........alright but I just found the plot line a little silly. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Autumn1194 on July 16, 2012, 07:24:19 pm Great topic. I love horror movies but don't know many of them beyond zombie ones (which really aren't even horror movies after a certain point *cough* Resident Evil *cough*). I'm a huge fan of 28 Days Later. Resident evil was good at first but then they like totally went a different path with it and I stopped liking it. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Keihan on July 16, 2012, 07:25:43 pm Freddy Krueger is the greatest horror icon of all time.
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Autumn1194 on July 16, 2012, 07:27:34 pm Jason killed Freddy!
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Turboweasle on July 16, 2012, 07:28:20 pm Great topic. The second one was godawful. CGI wasn't advanced enough at the time of that movie so the main mutant looked like a computer animated turd, really. Third one wasn't so bad if you could get over the whole "Alice has superpowers now" thing. But yeah, the first one was good. It was probably the only one where you could point out the obvious video game link. Don't even get me started on Resident Evil: Afterlife. Great eye candy, but that's about it. Not any horror to speak of. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: June on July 16, 2012, 07:32:17 pm You have a pretty good list. I would have to add:
1. Puppet Master - It is about a bunch of murderous puppets that are awakened by an ancient egyptian spell. I think things that seem harmless but then kill are the scariest of all. 2. Stephen King's It - Scary clown. Need I say more? Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Gift on July 16, 2012, 07:34:01 pm you're right! I forgot to mention the friday the 13th theme song :'( The hills have eyes I thought was..........alright but I just found the plot line a little silly. I agree. But it gets a honorable mention strictly because it technically the only horror movie I will not rewatch. Just for that **** scene where that... what are they called? Yeah, he sticks his tongue and... his long mutated disgusting... and sticks it in the girls mouth. To make it worse, I watched it with my friend (yeah, Tubbs) and then like 3 hours later when my girlfriend came over he mentions we have it and she's like "Cool!" So he glances at me briefly before saying "Let's rewatch it!" I'm still waiting for a Myers vs Jason movie. Showdown of the century right there. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Autumn1194 on July 16, 2012, 07:40:03 pm You have a pretty good list. I would have to add: 1. Stephen King's It - Scary clown. Need I say more? Clowns are something you shouldn't mess with, you can never tell if they are happy or about to bash you with a sludge hammer. you're right! I forgot to mention the friday the 13th theme song :'( The hills have eyes I thought was..........alright but I just found the plot line a little silly. I agree. Mike's kitchen knife has nothing on Jason's machete though. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: lightspeed_champion on July 16, 2012, 07:47:51 pm The Shining.
The original Dawn of the Dead is genius. It says so much about consumerism. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Permanent Poopface on July 16, 2012, 09:45:09 pm I can't make an order so just do with my list as you want
Psycho Alien Silence Of The Lambs The Shining The Texas Chainsaw Masacre Nightmare On Elm Street Jaws Poltergeist Halloween Friday The 13th The 1st Scream The Devils Rejects It The Evil Dead and that one with all the chick cave divers in it I know some of these might be considered thrillers so sue me Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: June on July 16, 2012, 09:47:31 pm Poltergeist has a clown, too.
*shivers* Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Turboweasle on July 16, 2012, 10:08:45 pm That f***ing clown. I had repressed any memory of that.
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: June on July 16, 2012, 10:24:54 pm Sorry, Turbo dear. :-[
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Autumn1194 on July 16, 2012, 10:38:52 pm you mean to tell me you're more scared of clowns than a "broken neck Japanese spiderman" or a "burn victim that has claws on his hand and a thirst for killing kids" or even a "guy with a chainsaw that cuts peoples faces off and wears them like a mask"?? :P
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: MNOP on July 16, 2012, 10:42:26 pm No specific order, just my faves
1. Hellraiser 2. Hellraiser 2 3. Hellraiser Inferno 4. Candyman 5. Hostel 6. Alien 7. Child's Play 8. Human Centipede 2 9. Saw 10. Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake (The one where Jessica Biel is running around in a white, wet shirt 90% of the time ^-^) Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Autumn1194 on July 16, 2012, 10:43:44 pm Did you understand the new hellraiser at all? because that movie effed my head up BAD
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: MNOP on July 16, 2012, 10:47:10 pm I thought the movie was half-assed. Clive Barker took no credit for the movie and didn't even want to be mentioned. He was that digusted by it. Whoever directed the film skimmed The Hellbound Heart and just said "Let's put a movie together with a CGI pinhead who says 'FLESH' and 'SOUL' too many times!" It was okay to watch but even the last Hellraiser did a better job than Revelations. I'm a big Hellraiser fan so don't mind the yammering. :D

I'm a big Hellraiser fan so don't mind the yammering. :D I liked the first Hellraisers, they were still hard to follow. Then the new one came out and I was like "wtf is this crap?" I thought for sure it would be a lot better then what it was. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Permanent Poopface on July 16, 2012, 10:51:13 pm Nice call on Hostel, I really enjoyed the first one
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: MNOP on July 16, 2012, 10:52:07 pm Very low budget. Probably spent most of it on CGI Pinhead. Looking like a ****ing cosplay. Then that kid turned into a Pinhead too, which is a big slap in the face to Hellraiser mythology. Good thread btw, horror movies are my fave. +1 O0
EDIT: Second one was good too Dave, but more corny and the part where the dudes pen!s gets cut off is epic. :D Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Autumn1194 on July 16, 2012, 10:52:42 pm I thought the ending of the second hostel was the greatest b)
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Laughing Turd on July 17, 2012, 10:51:01 am Nice call on Hostel, I really enjoyed the first one Second half sucked. First part was amazing. Lot's of boobies. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Autumn1194 on July 17, 2012, 05:42:02 pm I can't make an order so just do with my list as you want Psycho Alien Silence Of The Lambs The Shining The Texas Chainsaw Masacre Nightmare On Elm Street Jaws Poltergeist Halloween Friday The 13th The 1st Scream The Devils Rejects It The Evil Dead and that one with all the chick cave divers in it I know some of these might be considered thrillers so sue me I didn't see this before. I forgot about Jaws :o I would def. knock off exorcism of emily rose in order to put Jaws on there. The Devils rejects and House of 1000 corpses where some nasty movies, I don't really like Rob Zombie movies like when I watched the new Halloweens I wanted to kill myself. when you say cave jumpers do you mean The Descent? Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: MsTrixie13 on July 17, 2012, 05:47:21 pm Saw :-[
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Permanent Poopface on July 17, 2012, 06:02:14 pm Yes The Descent, thanks
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: MNOP on July 17, 2012, 10:41:26 pm Anyone have any favorite corny horror movies? Jack Frost is one of mine. The most epic part is where the snowman takes his carrot off his nose and bangs that chick with it. 8)
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Autumn1194 on July 17, 2012, 10:53:43 pm The Happening, was soo hyped up and it was going to be so awesome and then I watched it.........SO DUMB! "oh no nature is killing us" but it's not like a tornado or a tsunami, it's a freaking light breeze that rolls in and everyone starts killing themselves.
Attack of the animals, I rented this movie the other day because the cover looked awesome but then I watched it. They used puppets for animals -_- and this one lady pulled a ninja out of her ass and kicked this stuffed animal horse and blood went everywhere... it was pathetic, they spent maybe ten dollars on the whole movie. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: MNOP on July 17, 2012, 10:57:42 pm :o The animal one sounds hilarious!
Carver is really corny. It's on netflix now I think. It's a wannabe Texas Chainsaw massacre but it's so hilarious. One scene the killer dumps this out-house toilet full of **** on a guy before killing him. The **** looks like chilli! Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: JabbaScrub on July 17, 2012, 11:50:09 pm "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" wasn't scary, but after you watch it you'll never leave your feet sticking out of the covers again.
Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: DoubleGunz on July 18, 2012, 07:09:45 pm Saw 1-7. All you ever need. Also, The Strangers. That's it.

All your friends and the entire world might be a product of your dreams, and they'll cease to exist when you dream again. One helluva mind ****. Title: Re: Top Ten Horror Movies Post by: Permanent Poopface on October 15, 2012, 09:44:15 pm I know my list was scary
