Title: I hate packing Post by: Gift on August 17, 2012, 12:05:30 pm It'll be worth it... as long as I grind through it though.
Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Alumar on August 17, 2012, 12:30:22 pm That's what she said.
Hurry up so we can talk **** on the chat and insult SSE. Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Gift on August 17, 2012, 01:07:22 pm Not sure when I'll be on.
Maybe later tonight... maybe tomorrow. But I'll try. ;) Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Gift on August 18, 2012, 10:59:17 am In other news, did my soft move in last night. Was cool.
My MBA came to but didn't turn it on till a few others later when I got moved in. Much as I detest labels, I might be a Mac convert now. Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Alumar on August 18, 2012, 11:39:39 am I've got a Macbook, but I only got it because I got it pretty much free and because I wanted good resale value later on (which PC laptops suck at). I could sell it right now and still make more than I invested on it which is retarded because OS X sucks. Unless you have 8gbs of ram and an SSD it runs like a dog.
Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Gift on August 18, 2012, 11:43:39 am I haven't had any problems so far. Haven't had it for 24 hours though.
Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Alumar on August 18, 2012, 11:47:31 am The only thing I really like about OS X and mac's in particular is the glorious trackpad. But if you're a desktop user that doesn't matter haha.
You should also have this purge command ready. It really helps when the system sucks the life out of the ram and you're left with 40mbs. I made it into an app on the dock by using automator 'cause I use it almost everyday. http://osxdaily.com/2012/04/24/free-up-inactive-memory-in-mac-os-x-with-purge-command/ Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Gift on August 18, 2012, 11:57:23 am The track pad is really awesome. Which is odd because I hate track pads but I'm enjoying this one.
That's cool. I haven't had any RAM problems yet. I think I picked the 8GB option. Wish there was a page down button... Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Alumar on August 18, 2012, 01:45:40 pm I miss the home button when typing. lolz
Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Gift on August 18, 2012, 03:01:51 pm I miss shift + backspace on anything. Damn PS3.
Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Alumar on August 18, 2012, 03:12:48 pm I hate that on the PS3 since I use shift a lot for caps. Also once you get used to Command + W or Command + Q on a Mac you'll use those even on a PC where you'd normally use Ctrl + F4, etc.
Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Gift on August 18, 2012, 03:36:43 pm What is Command + W and Command + Q?
Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Alumar on August 18, 2012, 03:43:59 pm Command W closes tabs on web browsers, photoshop, finder, etc
Command Q closes the entire program Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Gift on August 18, 2012, 07:34:58 pm Command + W Sounds full of win
Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: ShadowStarEdge on August 19, 2012, 01:52:34 am **** you Alumar
Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Alumar on August 19, 2012, 03:29:33 am Nice sig kechua
Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Gift on August 19, 2012, 12:03:46 pm Oh, and this track pad is all sorts of awesome.
Just discovered what I can do using two fingers (you have a dirty mind). I.E. Scrolling, and going back/forward. Ok, that sounds even more wrong, but you get the idea. Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Alumar on August 19, 2012, 12:52:52 pm You should go to System Preferences > Trackpad and enable the other gestures.
I use the Three finger drag a lot. Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Gift on August 19, 2012, 02:37:33 pm I had no idea it was even there lol
This might be the first laptop trackpad I can actually like. Still broke out my USB Mouse to do some Excel/Numbers work though. =p Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Alumar on August 19, 2012, 07:16:43 pm Ohhhhh mac you so ram hungry
(http://i46.tinypic.com/24q0l5y.png) That is with only utorrent, firefox and itunes open. Title: Re: I hate packing Post by: Gift on August 26, 2012, 12:09:36 pm Ouch. I'm usually always running Calendar, Mail, Safari, Notes, Skype, and Firefox.
Trying to figure out the keyboard command to open Computer in Finder. Shows some sort of Up Arrow + Command + C. Command + R/W/T/Q says me a ton of time though. =D I find it equally neat they swapped the F8 with the function keys. My old laptop used F8 keys as default and using the Alt function required holding fn, this is the opposite, which is nice.
