Title: To buy or not to buy
Post by: ShadowStarEdge on September 02, 2012, 01:45:09 am
I don't really feel like explaining much but basically I can choose to buy it now for the PS3, or wait a few months after I build a gaming laptop and buy it for PC. Is the PS3 bad enough for me to wait ?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DO NOT BUY!

Wait until you built up your rig. It's definitely not worth it on the PS3. The game itself was **** for a while until Bethesda fixed it. Although it still runs fine, it looks like they are not able to release any DLC because they can't figure out how to get it to run on the PS3. Dawnguard is the only DLC out and they announced another one. They couldn't figure out how to get this last one to run so they aren't releasing the new one either.

Save your money and wait to buy it on the PC.

Also, if you wait long enough, maybe they'll release a Premium edition and you can get the game and DLC's for cheaper.

As much as I love Skyrim and have platty'd it on PS3, I wouldn't suggest getting it on the console vs. the PC. I'd wait. Like Joel said, I can't play any of the DLC and it freezes up on me a lot.

Definitely get it on the PC, for the reasons June and LT have stated and because you can mod it on the PC.

I'm also waiting till I get my PC for it. Even if it takes half a year more.

The mods are awesome.  I've played with them at my friend's house.  Not even just the game altering stuff, but the graphic mods... pretty cool.

Late to this topic, but I agree with everyone else. I have it on PS3 and it's fantastic, but there are issues with it on console.

Bro, seriously. I saw this game run on PC and it's no freakin contest. So much better with a rig. PS3's load times are an embarrassment.

I own it on xbox and pc. Pc is way more fun for the mods and the fact you can make your own levels and mods. Hit me up guys I'm on steam... account name is what else?  ---- the_pigglesworth ---- :D

Hey Piggy. I have a steam account and I WOULD add you but I never use the PC for gaming. I would like to but my PC is currently too weak for the task.

I'm actually waiting to see more specs for the next gen consoles before I decide on buying anything. If the PS4 has enough grunt, I might go for that rather than lay down $700-$1,000 on a PC, although I know that the consoles will never keep up.

By the way, what kind of rig did you buy/make? Oh and do you have Battlefield 3?

quad core amd - 4 gig of ram, but could be 8 if I would run windows 7 instead of XP. XP maxes out at 4gig. Got 500mb video card dedicated that pretty much doesn't hiccup on most games. Got bf3 but on xbox. I play portal 1,2, skyrim and have team fortress 2 on steam, plus left for dead 1 and 2.

the_pigglesworth on steam :)
