Title: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 21, 2012, 04:13:13 am I'm just curious, what kind of Dragonborn are you? What are you favourite weapons, perks and other? Feel free to post as much or little information as you like, and it can be estimates. In case you're wondering, yes, I am bored at two in the morning.
Name: Aramus Race: Bosmer (Wood Elf) Gender: Male Current Level: 47 Positions: Dragonborn, Arch-Mage (College of Winterhold), Guildmaster (Thieves Guild), Listener (Dark Brotherhood), Legate (Imperial Legion), Harbinger (Companions), Dawnguard Member, Thane (All capitals) Lifetime Bounty: 85,875 Highest Skills: Archery (100), Lockpicking (98), Sneak (97) Home(s): Breezehome (Whiterun), Vlindrel Hall (Markarth), Honeyside (Riften), Hjerim (Windhelm), Proudspire Manor (Solitude), Windstad Manor (Hjaalmarch), Lakeview Manor (Falkreath Hold), Heljarchen Hall (The Pale) Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Laughing Turd on November 22, 2012, 12:41:59 pm Name: Rollan Stax
Race: Redguard Gender: Male Current Level: 57 I think Positions: Dragonborn, Arch-Mage (College of Winterhold), Guildmaster (Thieves Guild), Listener (Dark Brotherhood), Harbinger (Companions), Thane (All capitals). Do those goddess missions count? If so I have several of those but can't even remember which ones. Lifetime Bounty: Tons and tons because I got pissed off at Markarth and Windhelm (probably over something dumb) and killed off their entire security force and civilian population. Highest Skills: Um, I have several of them at or near 100. One-handed, destruction, light armor... can't remember to well. Home(s): Breezehome (Whiterun). I only have the one because I don't see the point in having a lot of houses. Does it do anything for you? In any case I'm a poorfag and have trouble getting lots of money. Please to help? Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 22, 2012, 12:58:53 pm Wow, you're a very high level. Do you play on the PS3? Must be tough without the DLC to get that high.
Do those goddess missions count? If so I have several of those but can't even remember which ones. For the Daedric princes? I just made the category up myself, you can count it if you'd like. :PHome(s): Breezehome (Whiterun). I only have the one because I don't see the point in having a lot of houses. Does it do anything for you? In any case I'm a poorfag and have trouble getting lots of money. Please to help? There isn't really a point aside from completionist sake. I just wanted to buy everything, but I think Hjerim is the best house because of the many mannequins and display cases which make your home look badass. Gold is difficult to get but doing contracts for the Night Mother earns some good pay. Also, dragons spawn quite regularly, especially at those places on the map with a dragon head. Dragon bones and scales are worth quite a lot assuming you have the stamina to carry them all. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Laughing Turd on November 22, 2012, 01:07:33 pm I haven't done the Daedric Prince, I don't think.... I was actually referring to those goddesses that make your their champions, like that one that has you bring a person to sacrifice to her.
I am on PS3 but I'd assume you should be able to reach max level even without DLC so I don't really think it's that big of an accomplishment. I think you can pretty much rank up to level cap by maxing up all your skills, no? I do wish we could bet the DLC though. I've seen my brother play on his Xbox and it's much better, especially the damn load times. It's the reason I haven't even completed the game. It's just that annoying. Oh and I had no idea that dragons respawn. In that case I got tons of dragon bone that I can sell right now. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 22, 2012, 01:41:18 pm I haven't done the Daedric Prince, I don't think.... I was actually referring to those goddesses that make your their champions, like that one that has you bring a person to sacrifice to her. Yeah, she is actually Daedric. The only two goddesses (Aedra) that you can become agents of are Mara and Dibella.I am on PS3 but I'd assume you should be able to reach max level even without DLC so I don't really think it's that big of an accomplishment. I think you can pretty much rank up to level cap by maxing up all your skills, no? Yes, but I'm completely out of quests to do, so I have nothing to upgrade my skills. All I can really do is go back to a shop and buy some materials, craft something, enchant it, and sell it. Not really that exciting.Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Laughing Turd on November 22, 2012, 01:48:01 pm Oh okay, yeah, I was thinking about all the enchanting and other skills like that. That makes a lot of sense then, although I think I had seen higher ranked people before any DLC came out. I guess they sat there for 10 hours enchanting stuff to sell.
Are you getting all the DLC's? Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 22, 2012, 02:11:39 pm People can also file transfer their character from 360 to PC, mod it, and then send it back again. I did that, but I didn't want to 'cheat' in essence. I just unglitched a few quests. And received 20,000 Gold for an achievement
Yes, I've already bought Hearthfire and Dawnguard, and will probably buy Dragonborn depending on the reviews, which I expect to be good. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Laughing Turd on November 22, 2012, 04:07:02 pm That's pretty cool. I didn't know the Xbox version could do that. The glitched quests would have been great to fix. One quest I had to do get a human heart but when I went to kill the guy I had to to get it, he was glitched out of the game. I had to search for a briar heart instead.
I'd like to get expansions and with everything that happened on the PS3, I actually would say that it'd be fair to get at least one for free. That being said, I don't think I'd want to play those on the PS3 free or not. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: June on November 22, 2012, 05:53:47 pm Are you the official leader of the Thieve's Guild?
I am the leader of everything and, frankly, the richest person in the game. Lol... getting those stones and crown pretty set you up for life. Kind of makes the game boring in a way, though. I am Imperial and I think I am in the 50s. I have most of the homes... can't remember which ones in particular... This thread makes me want to play. PS3 sucks... I WANT DLC! Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Laughing Turd on November 22, 2012, 06:44:01 pm I'm missing a few of those stones but I don't tihnk I can get one. I think that one is in that one Embassy and I can't break into it and get the stone.
i had a list of all of them and was narrowing down the list but them I got pissed and quit looking for them. Maybe that's what pissed me off in the first place leading me to my city wide genocide that I mentioned above. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: CitizenSoldier3 on November 22, 2012, 07:01:27 pm I havent started yet but will be playing this weekend if I dont get hooked into achievements for bf3 or to find the last 30 pcs of steel in the pitt on fallout3 (last acheivement ^-^)
Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Turboweasle on November 22, 2012, 09:41:11 pm Name: Elendril Race: Bosmer Gender: Female Current Level: 27 Positions: None yet, working on the Thieves guild/thane of Solitude/thane of Markarth Lifetime Bounty: 0 Highest Skills: Sneak (98), Lockpicking (~50), Archery (~45), Smithing (61) Home(s): Inns at the moment This is my first female character simply because I hate being a guy and being shorter than the rest of the NPCs. I feel like the dragonborn should be intimidating if male, so I chose a female. Obviously she isn't going to overpower anyone physically as she's a Bosmer, so she's a sneak assassin/thief. Easiest character route in the game, IMO. It's also my first character on the PC, which explains why she's rather low-level. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 22, 2012, 11:58:12 pm Are you the official leader of the Thieve's Guild? If you are asking me, then yes.I am the leader of everything and, frankly, the richest person in the game. Lol... getting those stones and crown pretty set you up for life. Kind of makes the game boring in a way, though. How much do you get for them? I never bothered collecting them all, but seeing that I have nothing else to do, I could search for them. Is it possible to sell them? I hope I didn't before I realized they weren't just 'Unusual Gems'.Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 23, 2012, 12:01:42 am That's pretty cool. I didn't know the Xbox version could do that. The glitched quests would have been great to fix. It has nothing to do with the Xbox. We (my friend) connected it to his PC which also had Skyrim purchased via Steam, and found the file after transferring it first on a USB stick. We then moved it into the character file location for his PC version, played on it there (with mods) and then sent it back. It is pretty complex though, but I think it would work on the PS3 too.Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 23, 2012, 12:06:08 am Lifetime Bounty: 0 Wow, that's pretty impressive. Did you ever acquire bounty, and then kill all the bystanders, or have you really never been caught? I raged on city guards like LT did, so that's why I had so many. This is my first female character simply because I hate being a guy and being shorter than the rest of the NPCs. I feel like the dragonborn should be intimidating if male, so I chose a female. Obviously she isn't going to overpower anyone physically as she's a Bosmer, so she's a sneak assassin/thief. Easiest character route in the game, IMO. Yeah, that's one of the reasons I picked a Bosmer, as they're one of the shortest races and I've always preferred ranged combat. It is definitely the easiest 'class' though, that I agree.I have two other accounts; one being an Orc who specializes in Block and One-Handed (I can't stand the lack of speed for Two-Handed) and a female Breton who is a mage. It's also an opportunity to take the other side of quests such as in Dawnguard or the Civil War, though ultimately they're very similar regardless. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Turboweasle on November 23, 2012, 09:31:42 am Lifetime Bounty: 0 Wow, that's pretty impressive. Did you ever acquire bounty, and then kill all the bystanders, or have you really never been caught? I raged on city guards like LT did, so that's why I had so many.I haven't been caught doing anything yet. I worked on pickpocket with bandits right before I killed them, and you don't get bounty from committing crimes against them. Granted, I haven't committed very many crimes at all, but if I ever go on a rampage I'll probably wait until dark and do it methodically and silently. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: June on November 23, 2012, 12:56:06 pm Haha, Joel... I remember when you started the search to see which ones you had. I had to break back into the Thalmor Embassy... I used my horse and jumped the wall like a boss.
How much do you get for them? I never bothered collecting them all, but seeing that I have nothing else to do, I could search for them. Is it possible to sell them? I hope I didn't before I realized they weren't just 'Unusual Gems'. They are a quest item. I don't think that you can sell them. What happens is that you make the crown and then you get the Prowler's Profit ability which means you get a BOATLOAD of gems everywhere you go. Every chest has quite a few gems.... even the rare type. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 23, 2012, 03:10:00 pm Lifetime Bounty: 0 Wow, that's pretty impressive. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Turboweasle on November 23, 2012, 05:30:15 pm As far as I can tell it works by lessening your penalty for drawing the attention of the people around you. As in, the eye won't open as wide if you're at 5/5 which gives you more time to recover.
Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 23, 2012, 06:57:03 pm I'm aware of how it works, but the percentage increase of only 5 seems so low, that it wouldn't be worth it.
Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Turboweasle on November 23, 2012, 09:06:09 pm Doesn't it go up to 40%? I think it's worth it, especially when your Sneak skill is high. I mean, it does effectively give you 40 more points in Sneak once you hit 100.
Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 24, 2012, 05:36:45 am Doesn't it go up to 40%? Possibly at 5/5, I never searched, but I meant from 1/5-2/5. I do have the rest of the Sneak perks though (aside from 100, as I have 99 Sneak).Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Turboweasle on November 24, 2012, 10:25:54 am I think it's 40% there, I haven't checked in a while.
As for the relatively small increases per level, you have to understand that when you unlock the next increment you're around 20 levels higher. So getting 10% at level 20 isn't a big deal, but 20% at 40 is a nice increase, and 40% at 80 is very nice (especially when you hit 100). Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 24, 2012, 10:39:09 pm But the percentage increase doesn't stack, does it? I thought it was then a 40% total increase.
Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: the KR3AT3R on November 25, 2012, 01:36:07 am I havent played it since the 1st of January. :-\
Im level 38 Play time: 107.11.16 (whatever the hell that is) Name: Kreater (big surprise there!!) Race: Dark Elf Highest skills: Enchanting (79) Destruction (73) Two handed (72) Pretty much most skills are balanced. Positions: (where do I find those?) 0_o Lifetime bounty (12, 471) Favorite weapon: Ebony war axe Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: the KR3AT3R on November 25, 2012, 01:52:14 am Ugh! I think I need to cool down and be rational. If I hadn't taken almost a year off from playing I would be hella furious right now. So after playing a few minutes I noticed a few things.
1. I remember my level being closer to the 70s before. Now its 38. 2. I had over 150, 000 in gold. Now its around 50, 000. 3. A lost of my current missions were passed loooong ago, including the brotherhood sanctuary's location. Right now its in the original spot rather than the new one we moved to and reestablished. I thought about grounding my son on this cause he had asked me about playing a while back and I told him to save on a different file. Maybe he override my main one? Who knows. I guess I shouldn't get worked up over a game. All I know is that several hours are lost jow. :( Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Tiger on November 25, 2012, 05:15:45 am Positions: (where do I find those?) 0_o It's not listed anywhere in-game, I just listed them off the top of my head.1. I remember my level being closer to the 70s before. Now its 38. Wow, that really sucks. Yeah, it's only a game, but that's a lot of hours lost.2. I had over 150, 000 in gold. Now its around 50, 000. 3. A lost of my current missions were passed loooong ago, including the brotherhood sanctuary's location. I thought it was then a 40% total increase. It doesn't, but since your base Sneak level increases as you unlock those perks, it's still a substantial increase. If you're at 100 Sneak and only have 2/5 of that perk, you're effectively at 125 Sneak. If you are at 5/5, you've got 140 Sneak. I just think of it as a passive enchantment that would take a long time to make/find. I've never regretted going for it as it makes leveling Sneak a lot easier early in the game since you can be a bit less careful. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: the KR3AT3R on November 25, 2012, 10:57:21 am Man screw it. I played for about 15 minutes and then it froze my system 3 times whenever I so much as touched a body of water. I turned it off and watched TV. :-\
Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Turboweasle on November 25, 2012, 11:09:07 am That happened to me on my best character on the PS3, at Alduin's Wall. Can't finish the game.
The PS3 version got shafted. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: the KR3AT3R on November 25, 2012, 11:20:16 am How so? You mean in general?
Im just apathetic to it now because I don't want to spend all that time doing quests that Ive already passed. I shoukd uust do like you guys and start over with a new character. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Turboweasle on November 25, 2012, 11:58:50 am How so? You mean in general? Yeah. First there's the fact that, for some people (like me), once your save file gets over 6 MB the game has a strong tendency to freeze every time you get near a lot of action or water. Then there's the whole DLC fiasco. Then there's the bugs that haven't been fixed. Bethesda really hasn't treated their PS3 customers well at all. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Laughing Turd on November 25, 2012, 12:34:25 pm The water freezing thing is because one of their patches isn't interacting well with a later patch, or something like that. You have to go into your game data utility and delete the Skyrim patches. Then just load the game and download the last patch they released.

That's why I do think it's fair to give PS3'ers free DLC. It was wrong for them to ask full price for a product that is this subpar. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: the KR3AT3R on November 25, 2012, 03:46:55 pm Concurred on all.
Ill try deleting the DLC and re-doing everything before starting a different character. So you play on PC now, Turbo? Hows that? Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Turboweasle on November 25, 2012, 03:52:52 pm I do. It's pretty great, you can definitely tell a difference. Once I finish some work I have to do today/tomorrow I'm going to look into modding it, which is probably the best part about having it on the PC.
And thanks for posting that link, LT. I'll try that out so maybe I can play my Redguard again. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: the KR3AT3R on November 25, 2012, 03:56:01 pm Could I play it on an obsolete system?
Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Turboweasle on November 25, 2012, 04:04:39 pm Depends on how obsolete. On the lowest settings you could probably get it to run on an older system, but it really depends on how old it is.
Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: the KR3AT3R on November 25, 2012, 04:14:05 pm I believe it's an 08' Dell.

Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: the KR3AT3R on November 25, 2012, 04:15:55 pm Not off hand. When I get home Ill check.

I haven't heard anything about Sony not being agreeable. Title: Re: Skyrim Preferences Post by: Laughing Turd on November 25, 2012, 07:24:09 pm They knew all about the PS3 hardware when they made the game. If they wanted it to be on Xbox and PC only, then they must not have developed the engine itself to run on PS3 at all as there wasn't a reason to. That to me seems very irresponsible if they were planning to release on PS3 later.
