Title: New PSN Demo's Post by: Permanent Poopface on January 22, 2013, 09:54:36 pm Today was a good day for demos, as i type I'm downloading Dust 514, Metal gear Rising and Dead Space 3. I'm stoked for Dust 514 to get done so i can jump online with it
Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Laughing Turd on January 23, 2013, 12:55:52 am Oh I've been looking for the new Metal Gear demo.
Dust 514 is pretty good imo. It's KINDA like Battlefield but still kinda different. I'm still getting used to it. I just wish the resolution and the frames per second were a lot higher. Maybe a bit of a simpler menu too because there's **** all over the place and lt's hard to know what's what. Also I still don't know how to join people in my friends list. Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Permanent Poopface on January 23, 2013, 08:34:36 am Ya the whole menu system was getting on my nerves, the game itself reminds me of starhawk and mag mixed together, this one guy named jerk withagun was owning me hard and made me rage quit
Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Laughing Turd on January 23, 2013, 05:03:13 pm Yeah I think the ADS is a little bit loose in this game but it might be by design. I know you can upgrade your abilities over time so maybe it tightens up as you go.
Tried to play with keyboard and mouse. That was pretty bad, it's like trying to speak in a foreign language. Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Permanent Poopface on January 23, 2013, 06:45:59 pm I should try with the move , but ya even trying to upgrade weapons confused the **** out of me, its like there a menu with a menu within a menu within a menu within a menu.....
Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Laughing Turd on January 23, 2013, 07:04:37 pm yeah from what I understand, you have to buy skill books in order to upgrade your weapons type. Then you can equip your weapons and drop suit but then it depends on how many CPU points you have. Everything takes a certain amount of CPU points so if you try a combination that requires too many CPU points, it wont let you use that dropsuit. I don't know how to increase the CPU points.
Once you start getting new guns you have to start paying for them. Each time you spawn and die, you'll lose one of everything and if you run out completely you have to restock and that costs you money (ISK). That's either gonna p*ss people off or add a whole new layer of depth to the game. Think about it. You're going to have player corporations trying to take different planets and sh*t and those planets have resources. If you lose a planet, you're actually losing sh*t, including ISK money you need to replenish your guns and equipment. If you take over a planet you have a **** load of resources and get a ton of ISK so you can get more stuff. **** this game is complex. Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Permanent Poopface on January 23, 2013, 07:17:41 pm Very nice break down of it, thanks for taking the time. I liked being the medic last night also deploying the car and racing around teamates to different capture points was fun to. For a beta it ran pretty damn smooth for me.
Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Laughing Turd on January 23, 2013, 09:21:58 pm That wasn't even a break down. That's just what I understand so far :-/ I don't even know how to call vehicles in or how to get that big ass medic healing gun that shoots lightning looking health at other people.
I'm going to try and make a WiiUnite corporation tonight. I bet we could squad up like that. If not then **** this game. Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Laughing Turd on January 23, 2013, 10:40:18 pm goodammit i can t fiugure out the damn marketplace. itl looks like **** is just smeared everywhree. idon't even know whats what why couldn't they just do drop menus for everything like, oh, youre a medic and you want new guns so it would be like
medic > weapons > level of weapon > weapon name they could have different drop down menues for each othe osth aubtheytyeond'tlkk aFUKKKKKKK Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Laughing Turd on January 23, 2013, 10:42:13 pm BUT no THEY HAD TO HAVE EVERtYNTG IN A IBIGASS LISTS THAT DOESN'T LOK ORGANIZE IM SO PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW

Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Crzy on January 24, 2013, 05:40:05 am Right Dpad calls in vehicles...LAVs are the small cars, HAVs are the tanks I believe, and the other one might be choppers. From what I understand, the cars are free, but everything else is expensive to buy. So yeah...we might not be seeing tanks for a while, until people start making real cash.
I've seen people placing Sentry guns but I don't know how they did it...or if normal bullets even damage them. :/ The store tutorial said some items are permanent but others are usable and have to be renewed when you die/finish a game. Have no clue how to tell which are permanent either. Make sure you go into the Character sheet and upgrade your skills, there's still like Assault Rifle mastery that lowers the recoil and spread, and something that increases overall damage for all weapons like 5% per upgrade. They get costly as you upgrade the levels higher, but I think that's how people seem to be dropping me in 3 seconds. Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Laughing Turd on January 24, 2013, 08:43:43 am Yeah the free stuff is basic Dropsuits and stuff and those never go away. You can go back to them anytime in case you run out of money to restock your custom Dropsuit loadouts.
The permanent stuff is based off of Blue Print Originals or Original Blueprints or something like that. There's more of them in the game but they are rare. All the other stuff is based on Blueprint Copies, I thinkn they're called and those are the ones that you have to buy each time. Keep in mind that some people use keyboard and mouse so they're headshots are more consistent than a person using a controller. There's a lot of health in the game so getting a lot of headshots is going to take someone down a lot faster than bodyshots. Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Red Fatality on January 26, 2013, 03:19:30 pm dust is pretty cool but I have no idea what the **** im doing. So many options for everthing I don't even know how to change guns I just use first kit everygame not sure about the spawning either there is like a map layout I guess you can pick anywhere to spawn idk I just tried to get in a game fast and shoot people.
Title: Re: New PSN Demo's Post by: Laughing Turd on January 26, 2013, 11:34:37 pm Well it is a complex game but you'll understand it eventually.
Firstly, those starting kits are always going to be there for you and they're free. As you play more you'll earn more in game money and you have to use that to buy skills and other weapons. You can buy skill books to increase your weapon abilities and other types of abilities that will shape your soldier. It's kind of like an RPG. Once you level up those skills you can start buying different guns that are more powerful. You can also buy other dropsuits and equipment and then save different loadouts however you want. The thing is, every time you die you lose one of everything. So say you go to the marketplace and buy 10 guns of a certain kind, 5 med injectors and 5 drop suits. If you die five times you're going to lose those med injectors and drop suits, you'll have 5 remaining guns left and you'll have to restock on anything that you ran out of or switch those out with one of the permanent options that you will always have. As far as spawning goes, there are some ammo stations or something along those lines that you have to hack and then they belong to your team. I think you can spawn on those in some game modes.
