Title: DuckTales Remastered getting retail release Post by: The Krazy One on March 22, 2013, 02:25:54 pm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N0PzqF9gWY
After over twenty years, one of Capcom’s most beloved 8-bit games is coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. Disney, WayForward and Capcom are proud to present Ducktales Remastered! (http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/xantista/blog_photos/7ef811a6d08b55ab99f7475d66a2cbbc.jpg?v=202200) Not ponytails. Not cottontails. DUCKTALES! Through some miracle or planetary alignment, the little game Capcom and Disney fans thought they’d never see again is being remastered and lovingly enhanced for the millions of us who can’t quite get their old NES cartridge from 1989 to play anymore. (Seriously, stop blowing in it. You’re not helping!) Bless those bagpipes, DuckTales is back, it’s every bit as wonderful as you remember it, and the game is being brought to you by none other than WayForward, masters of the of the cutting edge throwback, previously responsible for Adventure Time, Contra 4, and Mighty Switch Force. From the Amazon jungle to the oxygenated surface of The Moon, Scrooge McDuck’s perilous pursuit of treasures untold has been given a gorgeous update worthy of the original game’s enduring legacy. Better still, DuckTales Remastered gets to do a couple of things the 8-bit original couldn’t dream of. (Not the least of which being Scrooge having the correct clothing color.) Every frame of movement from the original is represented, redefined and expanded upon. Oh yes, even side characters like Launchpad McQuack and Huey, Dewey, and Louie have graduated from static cameos to fully fleshed-out appearances. Speaking of animated authenticity, and this is nothing short of HUGE for **** DuckTales fans, the surviving voice-talent from the landmark Disney Afternoon TV series have been reunited to bring the unforgettable characters to life for the first time in years. Yes, even Alan Young - who has provided the unforgettable voice for Scrooge McDuck in almost every Disney game, TV show and movie since 1983 - is once again reprising his role as the irascible water fowl. We’ll have so much more to show in the months ahead, including the game’s new controls, additional areas, a Duckburg museum to track your progress, remixes of some of the most classic videogame music of all-time, and my personal favorite… A MONEY BIN YOU CAN ACTUALLY SWIM IN! It's scheduled to release on PSN, XBox Live Arcade and the Wii U E-shop this Summer. I've never played the original game but I loved the show as a kid. The original is a very good game. It's not Contra or Ghouls and Ghosts good but it's pretty charming. Title: DuckTales Re. Retail release Post by: The Krazy One on September 18, 2013, 04:44:57 pm Quote It's a Duck Blur! Capcom is excited to share the quack-tastic news that a disc-based version of DuckTales: Remastered will be hitting retail store shelves across North America on November 12. Currently available as a digital download through Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Nintendo eShop and PC, DuckTales: Remastered will offer an all-new $19.99 disc-based alternative to players on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U. Originally released in 1989 on the Nintendo Entertainment System , DuckTales was widely acknowledged as one of the generation's seminal platform titles. DuckTales: Remastered once again follows the adventures of Scrooge McDuck and his nephews - Huey, Dewey and Louie, as they explore different themed worlds on their search for five legendary treasures. The development team at WayForward have taken the levels and layout from the original release and expanded on them to significantly enhance the gameplay experience; but where this update truly impresses is its graphics and sound. All of the visuals from the 8-bit game have been beautifully re-created as hand-drawn and animated sprites, across a backdrop of luscious, re-envisioned level backgrounds. Furthermore, original Disney Character Voices talent, including some from the cartoon TV series, bring in-game characters to life with charm and wit, while the classic melodies of the original soundtrack are given a modern twist. TL;DR They're releasing a retail (disc) version of the game for the XBox 360, PS3 and Wii U for $19.99 on November 12th. |
