Title: Personal Ailments? Post by: Laughing Turd on July 13, 2013, 03:28:14 pm What are you more susceptible to?
-I have a weak knee that I never really got checked out. Had to quit running. Sometimes when I twist a little bit it buckles and I sometimes fall. Haha. -My nose bleeds really easily. A firm tap can easily get it going, especially in the morning for some reason. Also if I shower with hot water in the morning there's a good chance I'll start bleeding. -I'm pretty susceptible to throat related illness. I used to have bronchitis as a teen. It cleared up but ever since then, if I catch a cold and start coughing, the phlegm and cough can last for at least a month. Right now I took some Mucinex. Been coughing for several weeks now. Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: June on July 13, 2013, 03:33:56 pm My left elbow does some weird popping feeling when I try to do push-ups or the downward dog.

Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Handass on July 13, 2013, 03:56:10 pm The usual bum knee. I'm supposed to be taking however many pain pills I need to get by with it, but that makes it just that much worse when I forget or have a really bad day. Instead I've just gotten so used to the pain I can zone it out to an extent. On bad days I have to take a few pills. The worst is the day or two after I stop taking em, I have to get readjusted to zoning it out and it hurts like a mofo. Can't keep it in the same position for more than 20ish minutes(save for one with a slight bend in the knee) otherwise it get super stiff and moving it later is a SOB. Plus it hyper extends/locks all the time(even during my normal walking stride) so I walk with a slight limp, a much more pronounced one on bad days. Not to mention it looks completely different from the other knee.
Other than that, I'm super double jointed in all my fingers, which is a **** when its cold. My fingers all lock up and when I try to make a quick movement it pops out of the locked position and is the most unsettling feeling in the world. I normally walk around with my hands constantly in a fist or with claws during the winter months. Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: the KR3AT3R on July 13, 2013, 05:16:08 pm Knees - Mom has arthritis, but not sure if its genetic. None the less, I get tendinitis in them very easily when I work out. I can usually get a nice loud POP from them too when they bend a certain way.
Feet - I have planter fasciitis. It sucked when I was going through my growth spurt as a teen, especially because I was training/playing basketball on the varsity team. A lit of pain & suffering during those days. Sexiness - sometimes it hurts, but not too much. I don't wish it on anyone....besides myself. :P Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Squire Grooktook on July 13, 2013, 05:31:25 pm I am non elemental. I have no elemental weakness but do not do additional damage to any element.
Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Laughing Turd on July 13, 2013, 06:08:16 pm So far it sounds like joints really are a common problem with people, more specifically knees.
Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Permanent Poopface on July 13, 2013, 07:13:30 pm the arch of my left foot aches like hell most of the time I believe this is from me fracturing my foot in the past and not getting any treatment , it probably healed and set wrong

Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Laughing Turd on July 13, 2013, 08:51:57 pm can't really think of anything if i eat walnuts though i start to breath heavy kind of weird Maybe because you work out a lot. When I used to do a lot of exercise I never really got sick with anything ever. After I stopped working out so much is when I notice **** happen. TAke care of your joints though. Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Autumn1194 on July 13, 2013, 09:04:46 pm High blood pressure :(
I was a carrier of strep throat :( My pupils are larger than the average persons, so I get headaches a lot, from the light. :( Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Laughing Turd on July 13, 2013, 09:09:56 pm How do you have high blood pressure? DO you have high bad cholesterol?
Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Autumn1194 on July 13, 2013, 09:12:42 pm I'm not sure why... Basically all of my family has it :-\ so I guess it runs in the family.
My family is susceptible to heart attacks. Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Laughing Turd on July 13, 2013, 09:18:38 pm Damn, that really sucks. The only person that I can remember ever having that kind of heart problem is an uncle of mine who is 60 or so. But I'd like to think I have fairly strong genes. I'm not beautiful or anything but in terms of health, we're all pretty damn sturdy.
Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: The Krazy One on July 13, 2013, 09:46:00 pm High blood pressure :( ^This -nose bleeds ^Which can lead to this. Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Oh, and our scars that bulge slightly(though we blame this on the Spaniards working their way into the bloodline). Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Laughing Turd on July 13, 2013, 10:16:24 pm I would say we're pretty sturdy. My dad is in his late 50's, has thick brown hair, never gets tired or sick, strong muscles and strong bones (except for knees because soccer injuries). His dad was still riding horses until a couple of years ago, is over 80 and still has black hair. My dad's probably going to be like him and I'll probably be like my dad in my 50's.
My grandmother on my mom's side was a couple of years off being a centinarian. We're pretty sturdy all around. Also, I'd say I do have quite a few Spanish features in me. Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: the KR3AT3R on July 13, 2013, 11:11:10 pm Spaniards are the ****! >_>
My great grandmother was 94 when she died and remembered all grand children & great grand children's names. Grandfather worked out doors with us until he was bed ridden under docs orders at the age of 84. He only got put down because of cancer from working on & testing A bombs in the 50's. Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Autumn1194 on July 14, 2013, 03:38:54 am Natives are the toughest people around b) not Spaniards.
Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Keihan on July 14, 2013, 08:57:47 am -Knee Pain (specifically in my left knee). Had it since I was 17 (now 21)
-Lower back pain (right side) Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Handass on July 14, 2013, 11:33:25 am Natives are the toughest people around b) not Spaniards. This. Theres more Mayan blood in me than Spaniard. Though it sucks I inherited that damn scar swelling gene from the Spaniard in me. I had bad acne on my shoulders, and since it scarred over, every little acne scar is slightly raised, so my shoulders are bumpy as hell. Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Laughing Turd on July 14, 2013, 06:20:11 pm Youre weird. I don't have any of that.
Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Turboweasle on July 14, 2013, 06:23:39 pm My eyesight.
It's not all that bad, but it's bad enough that I have to use glasses/contacts to read things from a distance, or to make out small features in faces if they're more than 10 feet away. EDIT: Also the colorblindness thing. Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Laughing Turd on July 14, 2013, 06:27:10 pm Does that run in your family?
Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Turboweasle on July 14, 2013, 06:30:56 pm The eyesight or the colorblindness?
Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Laughing Turd on July 14, 2013, 06:32:30 pm Eyesight.
Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Turboweasle on July 14, 2013, 06:36:10 pm Not really sure. As far as I'm aware the only people in my immediate family who have iffy eyesight are my mother and sister. Theirs are particularly bad. I'm only a little bit nearsighted. Everyone else (granting that some of them are old and have glasses for that reason) has fairly good eyesight I think.
Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: Autumn1194 on July 22, 2013, 01:49:29 am I forgot to put vision on there.. It's getting worse, I think.. :( but I haven't been to an eye doctor for about a year so idk.

Yea interesting this post. I still suffer from this stuff except my knees are pretty much gone at this age and i have other joint and bone issues. How are you other old farts holding up? Title: Re: Personal Ailments? Post by: OhioLawyer on September 27, 2021, 07:10:25 am I had back surgery like 10 years ago. My knees are getting pretty bad these days. But other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? :D |
