Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: Turboweasle on July 26, 2013, 08:01:11 pm I haven't even heard of it before. What's it like?
Respond in the form of a limerick and I might buy it. Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: ĪSaucelotĪ on July 27, 2013, 10:22:04 am ShadowRun is a turn based strat RPG
With Tactical Combat and magic you see Big Corporations own all the big and the small If u dont get it, ill punch u in your D Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: Turboweasle on July 27, 2013, 01:57:05 pm Not bad, I give it 7/10 'cause the last line didn't fit very well. But I'm impressed.
Now give it to me in normal form. Is it kind of set up like Final Fantasy's combat? Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: ĪSaucelotĪ on July 27, 2013, 04:59:17 pm FF tactics, yeah definitly. I think the isometric view of it is fixed though. Its going to be more open world, transitions between combat and hub-world, that sort of thing. It reminds me a lot of the old Fallout games. This video will do it more justice than I can say though.

Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: ĪSaucelotĪ on July 27, 2013, 11:30:09 pm I feel like its falling under a lot of peoples radar right now though. It also has a map editor, theres going to be some sick community mods for it. It was on sale for 15 dollars during the summer sale, there was no alpha though you had to wait which i bet missed out on a few sales. Its 20 dollars on steam btw.
I'm saying all this and I havent bought it yet even though its out lol. I blame that on having to play XCOM and the 10 other steam games i bought and havent played yet, and the new mouse i bought while looking at both that and a steam wallet card at best buy :D Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: Turboweasle on July 28, 2013, 09:39:58 am Haha, man you gotta work through your backlog! That's what the Steam summer sale is all about.
And I saw a few games go on sale this time when they didn't even have an alpha version available. I wish they wouldn't do that. Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: ĪSaucelotĪ on July 28, 2013, 05:07:30 pm I know I hate that, thats literally the only reason I didnt pull the trigger on Shadowrun the first time, there were a few others like that too that I was on the fence about buying and chose not too.
Lol funny thing is I sold an extra inversion table I had today so now i have extra money to buy Shadowrun, but thats just going to add more games to the have to play list lol. Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: Termin8or on July 28, 2013, 06:20:46 pm Crap, I knew that sounded familiar. I have Shadowrun for the Sega (it was released in 94). I really liked that game....is it like the Sega version? Or are you familiar with that version...
Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: ĪSaucelotĪ on July 28, 2013, 06:30:40 pm Yeah its just like that, thats why they made this game to go back to its roots. I'm not that familiar with the story so idk how u remember it, and idk if this is a sequel or a prequel, i think its more of a redux.
Shadowrun Returns isn't too be confused with Shadowrun, that FPS cross-platform Hybrid of a few years ago, just in the same universe. Although i have to give that game credit too, it was extremely ambitious, pretty sweet too. It just wasn't what shadowrun fans were looking for, that was a spin-off. If you actually played the original, this is your game bro. Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: Termin8or on July 28, 2013, 06:38:14 pm Cool, I'll have to check it out. Maybe I should dig my Sega out and play it again :D
Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: ĪSaucelotĪ on July 28, 2013, 09:33:35 pm Haha I have a sega genesis too, 1 working paddle for it, 2 on a good day lol. Wonder if i could buy a good copy of the og on ebay?

Really though I do have a birthday coming up http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Shadowrun-Sega-Genesis-1994-/4941 Yes, that's the game O0 I always knew Term was a girl :o If you knew then you shouldn't have a shocked face :p Title: Re: ShadowRun Returns Post by: ĪSaucelotĪ on August 02, 2013, 03:10:39 pm Btw never ended up buying it, I think I might when it goes on sale. I'm actually more inclined to buy the old one lol, or at least get a rom of it. From what I've heard the new one isn't quite as open world and after you complete the story thats it, no game plus or anything. Also heard it was not very open world, so Ill still get it, just not for 20 bucks lol. |
