And not without good reason, obviously.

That actually looks like it'd be an ok movie... maybe  :-\ probably not.

I think the premise on its own won't be enough for a standard length movie.  Wondering what kind of twists they'll throw in to keep the plot from stagnating.

It looks pretty generic.

Generic is the wrong word. I feel pretty much how you said. There just doesn't seem to be enough substance for an entire feature.

Ah, yeah.  I feel like they could do some wonderful work with showing how people react to a man falling in love with a sapient OS and use that to bring up the idea of acceptance of AI as our equals in life (e.g. marriage, owning property, that sort of thing).  But I don't think they will.

That could be interesting, especially considering their opportunities would be set from creation. Everything down to the color of their artificial race and their monetary status is determined by another individual. The same couldn't really be said of human life, as a great deal is left to biological chance.

Exactly.  There's a lot to discuss when it comes to AI and their integration into human civilization.  Would we intentionally create them with limitations to ensure the we remain the dominant species?  Or would we want our creations to do more than we could ever dream of doing, like a parent would for its child?
