Title: Steam Family Sharing
Post by: Squire Grooktook on September 12, 2013, 05:56:52 am
Steam is introducing a new feature called "family sharing"

http://store.steampowered.com/sharing

You can get access to the beta (which starts in about a week) at the official group

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/familysharing

This is perfect for me. I can loan out some games to my friends which I won't be able to play, being busy with school and all.

Hmm, looks like I'm putting my pc together at a great time. This was a really great idea that Microsoft came up with but it's too bad they cut it out of their list of features. Very glad Steam is doing it though.

I didn't see anything on there about authorising another pc and still being able to play on yours at the same time. Can you do that or do you have to play one at a time?

If one of your friends is playing the game, and you launch it, then they will be given a 5-10 minute warning or so to quit the game or purchase it, after which they will be kicked from the game.
