Title: Extinction Mode
Post by: Ps358 on October 27, 2013, 12:48:24 pm
There's no Ghosts sub-forum, so I'll just leave this here.

Some extinction gameplay I recorded on Wii U.  Just a camera pointed at the tv so not the best quality, but easier than trying to explain it when someone asks about it.

Okay, so I've managed to make it out a few times.  Would have been more but I'm always the nice guy that goes back and tries to revive people that are down, even though I've been left behind on many occasions >:(

Here's the best tips I've learned:
1> Build up your sentry gun.  They are your best friend in this game.  If you upgrade them all the way you can put down two and they are great at distracting those pesky Rhinos.  They also earn you money very quickly.  The vulture is nice but doesn't last very long.

2>Use armor piercing ammo.  A lot of people like the explosive ammo, but from what I've read and experienced armor piercing is the most effective.  Especially with those damn Rhinos.

3>Split up your duties on the team.  One person upgrades armor, one feral instincts, one team booster, etc.  Your skill points will go much further if you do this.

4>Speaking of skill points.  Always go for the challenges.  If it's a gun one then get that gun and help.  People want to save their money sometimes but the skill points are more important.  You will get that money back easily.

5>Shoot the barrier hives!  They will go down much faster.  I've even seen people use the grenade turrets on them and they were down within a minute or two.

6>Okay, so you've destroyed the last hive and it's time to arm the nuke and haul butt for the chopper.  Before arming the nuke, have everyone go back to where the first meteor will block you and set their sentries down.  This method works really well.

That's all I can think of right now.  If someone knows some more please post.

I'm definitely going to try out the new modes in Ghosts when I level up a little more.  Been playing TDM/SnD to get the hang of the game and level up a bit.

Man, if you like SnD I would recommend Search and Rescue.  It's my second favorite behind TDM.

Maxdaddy, some tips I have are:

1. Dont have everyone using armor-piercing ammo. The reason being is that this ammo compared to regular ammo doesn't supply as much. And another small tip is that if you are full on regular ammo and you pick up special ammo, then you arent wasting your regular ammo. It stacks over it.

2. Not only can you shoot the barrier hives to make them get destroyed faster, you can also put all the propane tanks down on them. I recommend using them all at once, not one at a time.

3. When you're about to call in the nuke and escape, have everyone who can put money in the chopper, then have everyone waiting at the nuke and call it in. Once you do, haul ass back to the nuke.

4. Before you call in the nuke, have someone put down feral instincts. This allows you to run faster and get to the 1st and 2nd meteor and then to the chopper and will increase your chance of platinum escapes.

5. When you're going to the chopper, don't be slow and shoot the aliens. Just get to the meteors. You will have plenty of time to kill them there.

6. The Vulture pointless.

7. Have at least one person using the death machine.

8. For the challenge that says you have to keep 50% and 75% accuracy, have just one person shoot an alien with one bullet to get your accuracy to 100%. Then just knife the aliens, place sentries, throw grenades, use traps, etc. Using turrets and death machines decrease your accuracy.

Oh yeah, forgot about the propane tanks.  What sucks is when you stack them up and some noob shoots them before the chopper shows up >:(

With the armor piercing ammo thing, it was just what I read in the guide at the walmart library ;)

Didn't know the feral instincts made you run faster, just the sight thing.  That's good to know.

I still haven't figured out the chopper thing.  So everyone chips in?  Do you call it out or does it come automatically?

Yeah, I like to use the death machine for when the rhinos show up.

I knew about the accuracy thing, but it seems like it's almost impossible if it's in the later rounds.

the knife thing is easy at the city and before. The cabin is where it gets a little more difficult.

For the chopper, lets say their is 0$ in it. If each person chips in for a total of $5000, then one person needs to chip in $1000 more. Before he does that, his teammates should be waiting at the nuke button. When they're all ready, he calls in the chopper, and runs to the nuke, calls it in and you make your run.
