Title: BF4 protips thread Post by: JabbaScrub on November 27, 2013, 01:56:14 pm Let's share all the neat tactics and exploits we find.
On the map with the destructible Skyscraper: Hop in a tank and snipe from your side's waterway to theirs. I did this four games last night and always came out VIP with at least 4.0 kdr. Enemy tanks usually don't see it coming, and most drivers aren't skilled enough to retaliate. Most likely they won't floor it and escape. Out of those 4 matches, only 3 other tanks fired back at me (and missed every shot), around 5 ran after the first hit and got away, while most saw the direction of impact and assumed there were Engineers hiding below them. Cons: Attack helicopters have a ridiculous advantage against tanks. A shell to the ****pit rarely kills the pilot and leaves it with ~10hp. Plenty of health to finish you off if they're already firing. Meanwhile any decent pilot can easily take out a tank in one pass. Hopefully there is a secondary shell to deal that extra needed chip damage, but my friend hasn't unlocked any tank upgrades yet. Also watch out for infantry sneaking their way to you for revenge. Edit: cockpit. Title: Re: BF4 protips thread Post by: Kreater on November 27, 2013, 08:43:20 pm I got nothin so far
Title: Re: BF4 protips thread Post by: JabbaScrub on November 28, 2013, 06:13:14 am Protip: Pressing R1 while looking at an enemy will place an orange triangle over them. This is useful because your teammates will know where enemies are and Warthogs will know where to look.
The loading screens really need to put an emphasis on this. Nobody ever spots. It's big and slow so you can take it down in two passes, and usually get one or two kills. Much better than chasing another jet for 5 minutes to be rewarded with 100 points when you disable him and he jumps out.
Title: Re: BF4 protips thread Post by: Kreater on November 28, 2013, 11:17:09 am I spot like crazy!
Um, the only "tip" I have for now is to slow down. In the urban areas it's OK to walk around rather than run. This will give your soldier the edge with reaction time and hip firing. There are so many players on this that you can walk around and still encounter plenty of action. Title: Re: BF4 protips thread Post by: DoubleGunz on November 28, 2013, 12:04:16 pm When I'm using a shotgun I'm sprinting with my +10% speed 100% of the time. However, as always in shooters, it's VERY smart to assume there will be someone around every corner. You shouldn't sprint around corners. Das silly.
Spotting with R1 is wonderful. Edit: To anyone using shotguns, it seems like this game requires more accuracy than usual. In other games when using a shotgun I always swipe my cursor over the enemy when shooting, but in this that doesn't really work. I needed to change how I use them and be more precise with every shot. It was weird at first but I have gotten used to it. Title: Re: BF4 protips thread Post by: Joker on December 05, 2013, 12:02:16 am Thinking about getting this for ps3. Who plays it? I'm in the market for a new game. Still playing mw2 all by myself.

I play it on PS3, although I haven't had too much time this past week or two. Crzy has it for PS3. I think Coolhand has it too, but I haven't seen him on here in a while. Life does that sometimes. :-\Title: Re: BF4 protips thread Post by: Joker on December 07, 2013, 06:59:17 am I know right. I have to get all these old players back on my friends list.

Title: Re: BF4 protips thread Post by: jd111 on December 07, 2013, 03:26:31 pm I'm a little ticked about no backwards compatability available, and now you have to pay for multiplayer. I just might not get one until the launch the cloud-based PS3 game access, and the price drops a LOT. |
