Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service for Nintendo DS and Wii to end in May

2014-02-26

As of May 20, 2014, certain online functionality offered through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection will no longer be accessible. The discontinued services include online play, matchmaking and leaderboards for many Wii, Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi games. For a comprehensive list of games and services that are affected, please check http://support.nintendo.com/servicesupdate. Users can still play the games in offline mode, which continues to offer a rich game-play experience.

Online play for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games will be unaffected (aside from the Wii mode on Wii U and Nintendo DS games on Nintendo 3DS family systems). Other online functionality, such as access to the Wii Shop Channel, the Nintendo DSi Shop and video-on-demand services, are also not affected at this time.

We at Nintendo sincerely thank our fans for their continued support of our company’s legacy systems. Your enthusiasm for games made for these systems speaks to their longevity, and the passion of Nintendo fans.

Yeah, Wii and DS games use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection no matter where they're played from. Wii U and 3DS use Nintendo Network.

Lol I heard a few yesterday say, "only reason they're shutting it off is becuase of hackers like him". Which was refering to me, if I get a wii u its a gift. Those players have changed me, I use to run care free get shot by a known tker/accidently I brushed it off. Now I see any of those accusers on my team I go into a tking frenzy, if they are on the other team they rage/freeze lobby. All I can say is voe, ex, og, ofc, hc, soc and any other hc mode clans wont see me. I've had a few good players from those clans understand I dont cheat, in which I say good games. As for the rest, if you see any of those clan tags send them here, I need a good laugh when wii online is done.

Tldr sorry for the rant

Not that I know of, the players that are left now dont deserve to play with/against me after wii shuts down. Some days i've wanted to go jay and silient bob on afew (jay and silient bob strike back at the end they go across the country beating up anyone that talked bad about them).  :D

Nothing against anyone here  O0

Does the WiiU have hackers on CoD yet?  I don't play mine anymore, but I'm just wondering.

Nope, it doesn't. Though if you dominate in a match with certain people they'll call you one, aka you'll get CitizenSoldier'd.  :P

It was first hide n seek, then they started coming after me. After that it was backout, now its a teamkill/freeze the wii. When the wii shuts down you guys get these players, I feel sorry for you.

I keep hearing the servers are getting shutoff becuase of **** *** ** (you get it, they cant say anything nice) hackers. They think they'd destroy me on the wii u without any codes/cheats. Everyone knows I enjoy shotguns, the main reason is accruacy the other is to challenge myself/not try. Its also my way of scouting the other players before I show what I can really do. Take 2 games of hc tdm spas 53-3 final, mp7 (enemy raged at about 5 minutes) 47-1.

All im saying is im not the greatest, but I pay attention to players style. Im kinda like the famous chess player, cant think of his name. He would play bad the first game to watch his opponent, then he would sweep his opponent after the first game.

More noobs to own. They'll come by just to get shot down on the mic. That might be good for the Wii U CoD population.

Black ops hc tdm sucked, they sat in corners with second chance. Mw3 they try very hard, even trophy systems. But when you run sitrep pro/recon pro uav/vests they cant hide from someone who seeks very well.

Krazy- they couldnt win team defender matches vs me and randoms, a random had a riot sheild and I had a ksg. We had the flag at the top of steps in a building the whole match becuase they didnt think of c4/semtex and they raged the whole time.

Had to post it here, got my first assualt rifle moab last night. G36c silencer, only level 21. Still have 4 lmgs, 5 ars, 2 smgs, 5 sniping rifles to level. Sucks when everyone in lobby wants to be like me with shotguns, which makes me switch back to my spas.

So there is still no DLC on Wii U?  They really missed out on a great zombies map.
And congrats Jason.

With the latest Ghosts update we did get the Free Fall map that was supposed to launch with the game.

Unless you're just talking about Wii U games in general which there is plenty of DLC to go around.

they missed all the BO2 drops, and what about the first ghosts DLC, I believe that came out on all the other systems.

I know they did. I was just talking about other Wii U games, not the CoD games.
