Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: The Krazy One on March 14, 2014, 02:57:52 am Nope, you have to despise console gaming to be part of the PC Master Race. :P

seriously, the only reason I want one is cuz it's new. Is anyone even going to get one? Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: JabbaScrub on March 14, 2014, 10:20:00 am I want to get a PS4... but I just can't come up with a reason to. >:( That's silly. You know the novelty will wear of in a few months and you'll be regretting the purchase. Just use that money toward a PC. :)seriously, the only reason I want one is cuz it's new. Is anyone even going to get one? Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Tiger on March 14, 2014, 03:51:53 pm I have to agree with Jabba. Every Wii Uniter has a computer. I think it's the best way for us to connect together as a community (Steam) like we did in MoH:H2.

Is anyone even going to get one? That's kinda what I'm thinking. The PS4 is literally only better in graphics. It actually does less stuff that I want it to do than the PS3 does now. No media center, no DLNA, no mp3, no backwards comparability, and most importantly........ IT DON'T DO GRAN TURISMO 6! But, if GT7 comes out soon I'm screwed, lol. I really want a powerhouse PC and a good tablet. I kinda want to start learning some other graphics software programs for work (ACAD mainly) and play games. I'm ditching cable as soon as The Walking Dead is over for this season and going back to streaming everything cuz I can't stand paying Cox(sucker) Communications for a million channels I don't want with a commercial every 3 **** seconds. I have to agree with Jabba. Every Wii Uniter has a computer. I think it's the best way for us to connect together as a community (Steam) like we did in MoH:H2. yes, this. It would be awesome if we all went over to steam. O0 O0 O0 O0 O0 O0 Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: GUMBY-KID on March 14, 2014, 04:11:36 pm I have been on steam since 2010 so add me. gumbykid
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on March 14, 2014, 04:13:33 pm I have a Steam account, but my new laptop got stolen right after I made that account. I won't be on Steam for a while... >:(
You guys can add me if you find me on their. I'll accept when I finally go buy/build a new puter. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Tiger on March 14, 2014, 04:40:07 pm Keep in mind that when buying a computer, you probably don't need more than 6 GB of RAM. They might try to sell you more, but unless you're using Photoshop or other graphic/art editing programs (and Minecraft I suppose), it's usually unnecessary. Get 8 GB if its a concern.
I have 6 GB of RAM and can run Battlefield 4 and Skyrim on Ultra High graphics with a great frame rate. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on March 14, 2014, 04:44:56 pm I have 24gb of RAM on this PC... :-\ They said the 12 I had before wasn't enough and sent me new sticks out of nowhere one day. I just threw away the old RAM sticks the other day cuz no one here wanted them and I can't sell them.
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5675 @ 3.07GHz 3.06 GHz 64-bit Win 7 OS and two big monitors... I don't know what any of this means. :-[ Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 14, 2014, 04:57:46 pm I built my pc late last year and I absolutely love it. Best for fps games, though you'll quickly find that all the studs are on pc. So **** your console gaming skills.
Sorry, I get off track easily. PC is definitely the most versatile and the most powerful platform. I love being able to jump in a game, alt/tab'ing out to come to wiiunite and post something dumb and then immediately get back in game before the next round starts. Everything is faster and every game runs and looks way better on pc. 60 frames per second and 1080p are nothing. I've spent a good amount of money on my pc and the peripherals and I do not regret a cent of it. That being said, there's still good gaming to be done on consoles and I definitely plan on buying a PS4. I love a lot of the franchises and I can't get them on the PC. The experience is also pretty good on console. Not as good as PC, but still good. Lakkass, you'd love this game so much: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tW-ZjQkPuFU It's full of bright lights and wacky guns. You build your own gun out of a million different possible combinations. Then you can name your gun pretty much anything and you probably won't get banned. Hell, one of the character skins is a naked dude with his pixelated balls swinging around while you perform a taunt. You'll absolutely love capture the flag mode. It's a hammer instead of a flag. When you're carrying it you can slam people for kills. It's badass. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 14, 2014, 05:00:05 pm You can go to like 11:50 on that video and you'll see the victory screen. The dude's gun is named "Shitty Dick" and one of the other dudes is twerking in the back.

I don't know what any of this means. :-[ I am no where near a computer expert, but I think you have a pretty capable 6 core processor. Copy and paste this: Intel Xeon X5675 and use Ctrl + F to find where it is on this list at this website: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html . This list only includes high end, at least according to the website. Usually costs over $1400 according to this, and Intel's website (I checked). Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 14, 2014, 05:05:58 pm 24 gigs is a **** load. My motherboard can only handle 16, I believe. I only have 8 but plan on getting 8 more.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Tiger on March 14, 2014, 05:25:43 pm I have an AMD Phenom II X6 1065T processor, so yours is better than mine.

You should be able to get the 3930k for $570 at most. I have built my own computer and helped two of my bros build theirs. If you need help building one I can help. If you're talking to me, my desktop is very capable, and if I wanted something else, I have a friend who is an environmental designer for video games who is more than capable of helping me. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 17, 2014, 04:26:39 pm I have a friend who is an environmental designer for video games. That's pretty cool. Where did he go to school and where does he work? Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Tiger on March 17, 2014, 05:27:34 pm Vancouver Arts Institute. He's in between jobs at the moment and works for his dad currently, but he applied at Ubisoft recently. He's only 19 still, but he's a prodigy in my opinion, haha.

That was meant for Lakkus, or I think that is Lakkus. You should be able to get the 3930k for $570 at most. I have built my own computer and helped two of my bros build theirs. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Tiger on March 18, 2014, 11:36:26 pm Ahh, alright. To be honest, I'm not very good with in-depth computer related stuff. I ask my friend for advice on nearly everything. At least I'm more familiar than my parents. :P
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on March 19, 2014, 09:28:37 am lol, you guys lost me a long time ago. I don't know **** about computer hardware. I did look up my graphics card one day just to see if it was any good... it costs like $2000 new at retail from what I found with a quick search... so I guess it's good.
this is my work PC. It's meant to be a graphics powerhouse. The program I use at work is very graphics intensive. It's called Creo if you wanna look it up. I just know how to use the programs I have to for work. The IT guys do all the PC/network stuff. I just click buttons and make **** happen on the screen, lol. I do plan on getting a good PC in the next few months though. Not a super duper gaming rig, but something that's at least capable of playing newish games well. I want to build it if possible to save money. I'll let y'all know when I get around to it. ;) Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Tiger on March 19, 2014, 09:30:25 pm It sounds like the type of program that would make use of a lot of RAM like you have.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on March 19, 2014, 10:51:50 pm My computer can't handle the **** I do sometimes, lol.
Pro-e/Creo is a **** software. It freezes my computer up regularly if I try to do to much. I typically have 5-10 programs running at a time and it gets bogged down if I try to do too much at once. It's seriously a piece of ****. My desk is full of **** too because I come in holding something and forget it there because I have to get back up to go do something.
I'm very bad at keeping my space cleaned up. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 20, 2014, 02:03:47 pm Oh, I also meant to say that your space looks pretty well kept. Good jerb.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on March 20, 2014, 02:51:46 pm lol, it's usually way more cluttered than that depending on how much I have going on at the moment. I try to clear it off each time I finish a particular project. I just had all that laid out cuz I'm balls deep in making this new engine model. It's driving me **** nuts cuz I'm supposed to be done last week. >:(
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 20, 2014, 08:21:37 pm What are you stuck on?
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on March 20, 2014, 08:22:57 pm Making that damn engine model.
It's turned into a nightmare. There are three fuel filters and I'm trying to design the fuel system install for export to the middle East. It sucks. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 20, 2014, 08:29:32 pm That's rough man. What's your main issue with it? Not that I would really have any suggestions, but I'm curious.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on March 20, 2014, 08:36:36 pm Just figuring out all the details, where to mount everything, making all the models... etc. It's like this with everything. It always is expected to be done yesterday.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 20, 2014, 08:56:25 pm Half-ass it. No, Im just kidding. I've had to deal with poorly designed things in my adventures and it's always a pain in the ass when you have to tear through a million things to get to a single bolt.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on March 21, 2014, 11:11:25 am can't half ass it. people build this **** to my prints/models. if it's wrong, it don't get built correctly and things go boom and they could die. seriously.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 21, 2014, 08:24:48 pm yeah yeah yeah...safety and all that male cattle dung.
anyway, i won't derail the topic anymore. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on March 24, 2014, 03:11:13 pm derail the topic? since when do we stay on topic?
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Tiger on March 24, 2014, 04:26:55 pm Haha, so true.
Also, Lakkus! Someone gave you a karma so your number isn't perfect anymore!! D: Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Squire Grooktook on March 24, 2014, 05:46:46 pm I've been playing games on PC since roughly 2008.
It's definitely more convenient in a lot of ways to have all your games at the touch of a button, and there are many other advantages like price, moddability, etc. There also disadvantages like how some games might not run for you without technical support or how you might have to turn down graphics since stuff can't be tested across all pc's and thus you don't have the reliability of a standardized console. I guess I lean most towards pc for the sheer convenience factor above all else, though in the end it's not a big deal. Ultimately I just like to have all the good games I can get that tickle my interest, and one way or another you really need to have every console and gameplay device if you don't want to miss anything. I'm personally going to wait on PS4. I usually like to wait on new consoles until there's at least several games that I really want. For example I could have gotten a Wii U for Super Mario 3d World + Wonderful 101...but I figured I'd wait till Bayonetta 2 comes out as well. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 24, 2014, 07:05:18 pm Haha, so true. Also, Lakkus! Someone gave you a karma so your number isn't perfect anymore!! One advantage of the consoles is that the controllers have rumble. Yeah. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Tiger on March 24, 2014, 07:23:27 pm That being said, you can use an Xbox 360 controller on a fair amount of games, but I'm not sure if the rumble is enabled, I've never tried it.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 24, 2014, 07:55:32 pm Oh really? I might have to buy an xbox controller. The problem is that I don't like the thumbstick layout...but that's obviously something you can adjust to. I'm just really used to playing with the playstation controller since i've played with it for a really long time, and i don't just on mean the ps3.
I'll have to find out if they do support rumble. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Tiger on March 25, 2014, 02:55:16 am I know you can get PlayStation controllers that are shaped like Xbox ones. Not sure if you can do vice versa, but wouldn't be surprised if you could. Not sure how compatibility would be either.

Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: ĪSaucelotĪ on March 26, 2014, 02:59:45 pm By the way, talking about controllers did anyone see those steam controllers? And did anyone sign up for the steam machine beta, I keep forgetting, its probably over now.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: GUMBY-KID on March 26, 2014, 09:26:52 pm Yeah those steam controllers look dumb. I'm not sure if I'd get a steam box either, Linux sucks.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on March 27, 2014, 08:33:06 am By the way, talking about controllers did anyone see those steam controllers? And did anyone sign up for the steam machine beta, I keep forgetting, its probably over now. I saw them and promptly forgot about them. that was a dumb idea imo. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 27, 2014, 09:14:06 pm they do liok different ansd weird but i'd like to try to use them to siee if they work alright instead of being a negative nayser ****.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 27, 2014, 09:14:35 pm ji see what they call them the owl doe.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: ĪSaucelotĪ on March 27, 2014, 09:56:05 pm I'm sure ill buy at least one of those kind of machines in the next couple years. I really wanna try that steam controller out, it could flop but it could also be sick. I can't see valve making something like that and it end up being crappy.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on March 28, 2014, 05:42:42 pm Sorry about my poor penmanship.
I meant to say that I'd like to try the thing before I make any judgments on it. It might look weird but I really don't care about looks if it's a got a good "personality". ;) You're right Saucy, Valve does their homework and makes quality stuff. Gabe Newell is the innovative type and his company puts out graet stuff. I'm sure the controller will be awesome. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: ĪSaucelotĪ on March 30, 2014, 11:42:08 pm Hell yeah, If only one of us were one of the 300 picked for the steam beta we could have one now lol
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on March 31, 2014, 08:43:39 am I just didn't like the design. It wasn't that it was stupid looking. It was that there are no actual joysticks or buttons. It may work, it may not. But, I wasn't about to try one out just to be the first. Since I haven't heard **** about them since they came out, I assume they weren't that great. If they were worth a ****, people would have made a big deal about them by now IMO.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on April 02, 2014, 12:24:55 pm They actually put buttons on it now. As for the other stuff you said, it's still in development m8. Nobody knows if it's good or not because they're still working on it.
Oh and the trackpad type things they're using instead of analogs makes it more accurate than an analog stick. Think of it as the track pad on your laptop. you're basically sliding your finger across it and putting the pointer on whatever you want. They're specifically designing this thing for use on pc so it has to be as good as a mouse and keyboard. The initial testers are already saying it's more accurate than an analogue controller but keep in mind that, like i said, it's still being worked on. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: ĪSaucelotĪ on April 02, 2014, 06:28:29 pm Guess we'll have to wait and see. I like to stay optimistic. It could end up a niche thing, might stick around for a while but never get real mainstream. I think the virtual reality things are going to be sweet too, probably stick around for a while too. I think they will probably end up being a niche market though as well. Idk I'll try em all out at some point.
Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on April 02, 2014, 06:48:42 pm well, honestly, i think to the pc guys like you and me it's not going to appeal as much as it is to the guy that is wanting to play the pc but doesn't want to sit at his desk. It's for the guy that is happy sitting and playing on his couch with a controller on his lap. You have to admit that sitting down on a couch after a long day is far more comfortable that sitting on the desk chair.
i think what gabe is trying to do with steam is make it part of the living room and take market away from the consoles. that's also why he's releasing the steam box so that people that don't know about computers can buy an all-in-a-box solution and still get a competent rig to play the pc exclusive games. i think what it'll really come down to is the casual players and stuff instead of us keyboard and mouse guys. i don't really see myself giving up the kb and mouse for a controller on the pc. but again, like you said, maybe. Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Cadillak on April 04, 2014, 07:33:48 pm That is exactly what the Steam box is for LT. They have stated that outright. O0
They want to make Steam to take over the world. O0 Title: Re: **** you pc master race Post by: Laughing Turd on April 04, 2014, 08:04:39 pm O0 lol O0 |
