Title: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: HOOPTY CLAN on October 14, 2008, 07:21:07 pm I'm gonna be hosting a Halloween party of drunken indulgence and film watching this year. I've got a pretty stacked collection of horror flix, mainly 80's classics. But we watched most of these last year :'(
I have the entire series of: Halloween, Friday The 13th, Nightmare On Elm Street, Aliens, Evil Dead, Night of The Living Dead, CRitters, Jeepers Creepers, and just about every John Carpenter movie ever made. My friends like 80's-90's campy B-movies. I need some suggestions pweeeeeze. This year I got Monster Squad: The definitive 80's horror movie, Goonies meets the Universal monsters kind of thing :D Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: Handass on October 14, 2008, 11:01:44 pm ummm....the shining....im so mad that most of my generation thinks thats a stupid movie
Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: PandasDontFloat on October 14, 2008, 11:09:12 pm Pokemon 2000.
Epic. Scary. And most of all heart-warming. :'( Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: NDS IS POPPIN on October 14, 2008, 11:15:09 pm anwhistle gone wild vol.3
Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: Gift on October 14, 2008, 11:21:15 pm High Tension.
Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: OhioLawyer on October 15, 2008, 08:50:35 am I have to agree that The Shining is one of the best. But not so much a party movie, more of a sit alone in the dark movie.
As for campy 80s horror films, they are too numerous to really pick, but Blood Diner is a classic. Also, I don't know how familiar you are with Dario Argento, but Susperia is a great flick you should check out. And I didn't see any of the Candyman movies on your list either. You can't go wrong there. P.S. I took a horror films class in college that bolstered my love of horror films. If you ever get a chance, you should do it. Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: Cadillak on October 15, 2008, 10:26:43 am "The Stuff" --- I'm not sure if that's the correct name or not. It had something to do with some white goo that came from the ground at an arctic drilling outpost i think.
Someone help me out here if you know what I'm talking about ??? Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: OhioLawyer on October 15, 2008, 10:41:23 am I was just looking through my horror film collection and noticed some classic series' that didn't make your list as well.
The Phantasm and the Hellraiser series' would make great movies to watch at your party as well. Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: MessakiNg on October 15, 2008, 11:15:21 am hell raiser is a plus ive never seen phantasm. The george A Romero zombie movies are always fun to watch, night of the comet is pure cheese the maniac cop ones are lulz worthy too... there is really to many to name just kind of look up the type of horror movie your into and try to find what you can.
I like the shining. but if youve read the book youll know how much of a turd the movie is and much greater it could have been. But i thought it was the sh*t before i read the book so it still gets a O0 from me. But def not a party movie Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: Cadillak on October 15, 2008, 11:57:07 am IT, the lost boys, tremors
Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: BMan on October 15, 2008, 12:10:43 pm I liked IT, but it may be too long for a party. Lost Boys is one of my all-time faves.
If you are looking for 80s cheesy semi-horror, watch Maximum Overdrive. Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: MessakiNg on October 15, 2008, 01:49:10 pm **** YEAH maximum overdrive FTW i just love watching people being murdalized by house hold items **** you can even see a baseball coached get raped by a soda machine. Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: HOOPTY CLAN on October 16, 2008, 05:10:58 pm Yeah but it was superbly written. The dialog was evocative of David Mamet's early works(if done in iambic pentameter), especially in the first DP scene. :-*
Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: Handass on October 16, 2008, 05:38:25 pm I would also like to recommend every single "SciFi Channel Original Movie".....those things are friggin hilarious and classic.....bahahahahaha....best has to be Ice Spiders or Dinocroc

Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: Marxist Dictator on October 17, 2008, 01:41:17 pm Yeah but it was superbly written. The dialog was evocative of David Mamet's early works(if done in iambic pentameter), especially in the first DP scene. :-* The dialogue was something else, but we had to make some sacrifices in the audio department. Our budget just couldn't take trips to bars and the like so we had to settle with random truck stops more often than not. Title: Re: Horror Movie Suggestions Post by: MessakiNg on October 17, 2008, 03:40:34 pm OMG creepshow 2 FTW the "thanks for the ride lady" dude used to give me nightmares as a kid for some reason... i saw it a little while back and thought it was hilarious.
