I've got a Verizon S4. I've never had a smartphone before this one so I can't say much. I love the thing, but the few flaws really aggravate me.
-Camera app has no manual focus. This makes things like macro shots a pain. Your only option is to touch where you want to focus, hope the app gets it right, and take the picture before it decides to focus on something else. Want to snap a spider on its web? The best you can get is an image of the wall behind and a vaguely spider-shaped overlay. What makes this so annoying is that when the camera is focusing, you can see your subject come into perfect focus half of the time.
-There aren't any designatable gestures other than the defaults. This can probably be worked around with knowledge, but I hate not being able to swipe the top of the lock screen to navigate my music while driving, when it was possible on my ancient jailbroken iTouch.
-I don't know how to summon the voice command button, but it pops up at the worst times.
-At least with Verizon, the s4 comes with a slew of bloatware apps. Most are pretty small and unobtrusive, but I still don't want them there. My apps folder is cluttered with a bunch of crap I want gone, and the best I can do is temporarily disable some of them. Flipbook, Andriod's cloud service, etc. all take up various types of space on my phone and I'm not authorized to delete them.
