Gaming Boards / Nintendo Board / Wii U Should Be Safe From Hackers

For all of those that hate hackers, looks like the main team that brought you Wii Homebrew (fail0verflow) will not be pursuing homebrew on the Wii U. Do a Google search for fail0verflow the future of console homebrew and select the first search result to get the details. If fail0verflow has really decided to not pursue this endeavor, then hacking on the Wii U will not exist. I feel that this is great news as it protects games from abusive hacking. However, those that try to bring more to the games through hacking will, unfortunately, also be out of luck.

Nothing wrong with that. Has anyone tried the hacks? I haven't posted the weapon swap hacks yet, but I was able to get the .45 to fire panzer rounds. However, because Campaign adds smoke trail effects, the game freezes if you fire too many rounds before the effects for the previous rounds have gone away. Also almost done with getting the multiplayer maps to load in campaign. Not as much fun as playing multiplayer but still interesting. I have also started researching how to possibly get multiplayer going again.

I was never concerned, obviously, with how good of a player I was. The stats meant nothing. I understand, you don't like (i.e. hate) hackers. Other than talking to EA about running the MOHH2 server, I haven't done anything to try to get Multiplayer back. I don't think that even the best of hackers could do that.

I don't believe that that is true. Many gamers go back to games they haven't played in a while and poke around. It's fun to use the hacks, even in Campaign, to do things in the game that you normally can't. If you have Homebrew, you should give it a try. I'm not saying that it will revive playing MOHH2 Campaign, I'm merely saying that it's something interesting to try. To each his own. Also, strange that EA never released another Medal of Honor game for the Wii.

See, I can understand that you get a sense of accomplishment from hacking a game and "putting the puzzle together" but what I don't understand about hackers is why you all have to jump online and make it hard for the regular joe that just wants to play the game without a fuss? It's irritating when all you want to do is play online and the entire lobby is jumping across the map or running at super speeds.
I honestly don't know what to say. I really tried hard to make hacks that were fun and not destructive to the game. Maybe that's just impossible. I do understand what you're saying.

If anyone is interested, I'm going to start working on a reverse of the Multiplayer Campaign hack. It will be called MP Revisited. Basically, when you start a Campaign, the smaller Multiplayer maps that we all grew to love will load instead. I don't know if I'll ever get around to this, if it is even possible or what the outcome will be, but it would be interesting to see all of the NPCs crammed into a Multiplayer map. Also, if anyone used the Multiplayer hacks in Campaign, let me know what you think.
