Hey everybody! I was purging some old things in the computer area recently and found my old account name and password for this community. Hi GumbyKid, I remember you buddy and quite a few others as I do a quick scan of posts. I stopped all gaming around the time we had our first child in 2011 and always fondly remembered the great times and skype games we had so long ago. I hope you're all doing well and enjoying what each day has to offer. Currently, moved from Michigan to Ohio last year, married with 2 girls, age 6 and 10. They play Mario Cart on the old Wii and a few other games. I never upgraded to xbox or anything. I'm playing the guitar again and enjoying learning the ukulele and keyboards. Things are good but like GumbyKid says, I do still have strong memories of the time spent with you all. Here are some old COD videos I still have from an old youtube account ... the last one includes Pipilla doing the classic Tea-bag. I do miss running around with my Springfield in MOH though. https://youtu.be/yFO4FPdaWKghttps://youtu.be/_yZP_-G45dchttps://youtu.be/RZdopIxCbgM

Joel..... You are Correct Sir! Lak - Your topics and posts have always been fine with me. I like a lot of the ideas coming from you guys, Turbo especially. You are spot on about the youth movement and building on passionate gamers and their abundance of extra-curricular "free time". Welcome the new people in, keep the old ones still interested and have tougher standards for posting a new topic - example: it must have a friggin' subject matter followed by an opening post that actually means something. I know people come here to vent and get random thoughts out to share with others, but if it doesn't truly have substance, then have only 1 topic thread called Jibber-Jabber or something where it could be used as some kind of free-form artistic linguistic graffiti or something. Not trying to sound like a grumpy gus, but it seems ( at least from other types of forums on a variety of topics I've visited ) that a well-moderated board keeps things neater and encourages more people to post.

I think a lot of people left because of all the stupid random topics by the same person. Not saying who... but they just took up space and made this whole site look like immature junk that a lot of us old crotchety folk can't stand. Start some intelligent topics again and get some meaningful discussions going and ease up on the trolling a bit and maybe the new people won't get turned off and the old people will tune back in. - Just sayin'

I don't know why everyone loves the MSR. I've used it but I don't really like it. (Though I'm not a huge sniper anymore.) The L118 is sexy. In a way, it reminds me of the Springfield when the gun picture pops up in the kill feed. <3
I miss the Springy too, Joker.

So, it's been over a month since anyone has posted on their New Year's Resolutions, how are they going? For me, haven't signed up for any classes yet, still snack after some meals but not as much as before, I am using the elliptical fairly regularly and I have lost 10 lbs since the first of the year ( I've got a weekly weigh-in with my boss at work so we are using our competitive nature to stay on task and eat less and healthier, so far so good ).

She's doing better now, she had the flu last week then my wife had it and now I'm home sick with it. Other than teething she's a pretty happy baby, we're lucky. We should plan some kind of reunion and have the old crew get in on some kind of skype game some weekend night like the old days, we just need to find out which games we all still have and if everyone still has a Wii ( didn't Mum rage quit one night and smash hers with a baseball bat or something?).

I voted for Ironmaiden, even if he is from a state that prides itself on terrible roads and even worse drivers... (giggle) ... and because I miss playing with him. Oh, and because his posts are funny and he uses festive emoticons. I like festive. the roads are the best thing about that miserable plot of crap-infested wasteland that attempts to be a state. GO BUCKS!!!!!!!! WOW, just WOW! I just noticed all this dookie, not very nice I must say. Thanks for the votes LT and June, I miss playing with you all as well. I think they make the roads so crappy in my totally awesome "WOLVERINE" state, to keep the horrible drivers from ohio away. It's a small price to pay but dang, it get's old getting stuck behind someone with ohio plates going 55mph in the friggin' Fast Lane! We go 75-80 mph up in this mofo, if your people can't handle it stay home and eat some Tony Packo's or something.

I don't know a ton about this and am not claiming to know any more than anyone else on the subject.
There has been warnings from NASA Scientists and others about impending catastrophic solar flare activity for this year especially. I have read a little on this and how they come and go in cycles and how they have messed up satellites, electric power and even back in 1859 they caused an aurora borealis like effect that many witnessed and it wiped out a lot of telegraph lines. I'm not trying to get all 2012 apocalypse here, but let's just say we Do lose electricity and communications for an extended period of time. Do you have an emergency plan?
I know that when this type of subject is comes up, there are usually 3 kinds of responses. 1 - Those who are planners and think of this kind of stuff and actually believe it has over a 50% chance of happening and have some sort of plan ( which could include food storage, guns- ammo, water filtration, fuel, etc..) and 2 - Those who are more reactor types who will deal with such an ordeal when or if it actually occurs. and 3 - The Sarcastic types who come up with jokey answers but don't really want to consider dealing with such a possibility. I've noticed some of them to be the bury your head in the sand types who go blank when you mention anything like this subject matter, and yes, this is only the Solar Flare angle of it all. Ok , you got me, I guess it does have apocalyptic undertones to what I'm writing because it is easy to think of the Shifting of the Poles, Alignment of the Planets, World War, Internet Hackers, People causing everything to go haywire by buying too much into the hype of the 2012 Mayan Calender thing, etc...
What are your feelings on this subject matter? My personal opinion is that we are very dependent on the system we have now and it wouldn't take much to cause a major disruption, meaning it could take longer than expected to be up and running again and in the meantime it would most likely bring out the worst in many of us due to our "me, me" attitudes and such.
