1  Now Playing / Let's Play / Re: FPS on 360 anyone? on: October 21, 2012, 12:44:55 pm
I play a lot of CoD on 360, along with Gears and Halo every now and then. Anyone with a 360 feel free to add me.  CrossThaLine

Assault Rifle: G36C  - Good reload and for some reason I really like the recoil.  Always beasted with this gun
SMG: UMP45  - Throw rapid fire and range on here
LMG: LMGs don't really serve a purpose in this game as AR can hit every distance and the maps aren't big enough, but I'll say L86.
Shotgun:  USAS. Quick fire rate and pretty good range.
Sniper:  L118. Always used this gun from previous games so I just stuck with it. I feel nooby using a semi-auto
Machine Pistol: FMG9. I don't always use a machine pistol. But when I do, it's usually an FMG9.
Handgun:  Deagle. Pretty much just because of the name and power.
Launcher:  Stinger, but i'll RPG when I'm in a **** mood.

Perks: SoH, Assassin, Stalker.
Death Streak:  Don't get them, so I don't even know what it's set at.
Map:  Probably against popular opinion, but I like Bootleg and Bakaara.
3  Gaming Boards / Video Game General Discussion / Re: Who will be purchasing Wii U? on: October 13, 2012, 02:14:43 pm
My big disappointment in the Wii online gives me reservations about it.  Definitely will not purchase it at launch, and I will probably save my money for a next gen 360. Sadly I will probably miss all the Nintendo classics (SSB, MK etc).

Has potential, but the only thing that worries me is the point allocation. That will make or break it for me.

It wouldn't be useless. It wouldn't be some stupid last resort crap. If you run out of ammo, switch to secondary or reload.

Swiping 2 to 4 times in front of someone is completely useless.  If you don't understand that then I don't know what to tell you.  It's like you don't read my logic at all.

For instance, in a close quarters combat in Black Ops, if a person used a skorpion, the time to kill is 0.08s. (From http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Black_Ops_TTK_For_Weapons)
Sitting through 2-4 knife animations like the link said, tell me which one has the advantage.  I just do not under any circumstance understand why you would nerf the DAMAGE, not range, of the knife. It's so stupid I can't explain it and the developers will not do it. If you allow someone to get to you that close when people die in the game that quick and are unable to knife them then you deserve to be killed, bottom line.

I'm done arguing about it, but I'll just repeat my last point.  A melee should not take an equal amount of hits as a bullet, or a kill from range.  That has not been prevalent in other comparative games, and should never be.  If you want to decrease the range and make it so that you have to be up next to each other, fine.  I have no problem with that.  As long as it stays a one hit kill and you don't have to swipe at them multiple, or god forbid 4 times with what that article said, then it works for me.  That is the point I was arguing about.  I personally have never really had a huge problem with the knifing aspect.  Sure, there are the kills that are like wtf he shouldn't have gotten me.  Everyone has that.  But to make melees useless is not the solution.

The knife should be a weapon that takes skill. A weapon that if you have a lot of kills with it people are like - you must have boosted for that.

It shouldn't be the most powerful weapon in the game and the easiest way to get a kill in close quarters. It shouldn't be an equal fight for a shotgunner (which is it - don't deny that).

A weapon that has a range of 1 foot

>Range of one foot
>CoD
Fine 2 feet. Whatever.

Knife is supposed to be stealthy. If it is a one hit kill from behind (and doesn't make you show up on the killfeed) and then 2 hits from the front, or 99% damage so even if you've only stunned them you can kill them... that would be perfect. The knife would finally be balanced and be an awesome weapon.

I'm just saying making it 2 hits from the front would make it utterly useless.  Like I already stated, with how quick you can kill in this game, there is not one explainable instance that an average player should get killed from the front then.  The damage is all to scale and on par with every other video game in regards to melee and bullet damage.

It shouldn't take an equal number of bullets as melees to kill someone, or it is useless.

A weapon that has a range of 1 foot is not the most powerful weapon in the game. Close range combat consists of more than a 1 foot radius. And saying a knife is more powerful than a shotgun is crazy. Like I said, in CoD it takes 2 bullets in the average gun to kill someone.  That's a fraction of a second. Match a striker vs a knife and it shouldn't be close. Who do you play against lol? I've never in my days playing CoD seen a person using only a knife go anywhere NEAR -10. And if they dare go positive those players should be downright ashamed of themselves.

I realize some people will critique a game no matter what the developers do. But to completely take out the melee system to make it an "achievement" is utterly ridiculous.  Why should the knife be like that? Getting kills where you have to swipe 4 times at someone  where 2 bullets kills just means you play a bunch of tards and no one can make an excuse for that.

Look at other games.  Halo for example.  It takes 2 melee hits to kill someone.  That's fine considering the fact that it takes more bullet damage for a kill, aka the health shield.  In CoD, the bullet damage is much higher, so melee is too, aka one hit kill. MoH is the same way. It took I think 2 hits with the melee, even though hit detection was a joke with it.  If it actually worked then it would make sense since it took 5 or 6 bullets with an SMG, and 4 or so with LMG. I forget the actual numbers so I get it if I'm off and I don't care. It just makes no sense to completely throw away a melee system because you have the reflexes of a dead cow or you aim as well as LeBron in the fourth quarter.

It still has minimal range.  You shouldn't let someone get that close to you when you can kill someone that fast.  the only time a knife is used really is if you round a corner and someone's there or if someone sneaks up on you.  In the first scenario, it isn't that big of a deal and MAJORITY, not all of the time, it works correctly from what I've seen.  In the second scenario, you deserve to be killed.  But that's no reason to make the knife completely useless. If you have the time to pull out the knife and knife you two or four times depending on which you use before they shoot you twice, then you are playing someone who is either completely unconscious or is a borderline vegetable playing with one pinkie.

There is no way this is real.  The game modes sound ridiculous, especially the one where you climb out of a chopper.  The perks look a little over the top too.  I remember reading a perk list similar to this for Black Ops and it said you could play dead and climb trees.  Turned out to be fake obviously.  As for the two swipes for a knife kill that would be horrible.  That would make knifing useless. People who complain about the knifing system should just not suck and not let people get within a foot of them, especially when in CoD you die from two bullets...
