I know I'm a day early but I don't come to this side of the tracks anymore. I hope everyone is well and has something to be Thankful for. A small update: My son, Ck_H is now 15 and in HS; my daughter is now in Middle School; The Mrs. and I are just fine. Lots of family stuff both good and bad; but overall lots to be thankful for. I don't play regularly anymore. Sometimes I'll play a few hours everyday for a week and then not play for a week. More recently I've moved on to riding my scooter, just got a new one: first bike: and more recently: GH

I am really enjoying it, not even close to Bf3 IMO. I played a lot of Bf3 just because.
I'm not one to get into the technical side, but as for the fun side I am having much more fun with Bf4. I play only domination which is 10v10 and closely mirrors the feel of Arica Harbor conquest. Domination has no vehicles and 3 flags to cap. I do like the weapons and the weapon options in this game much better. In fact I do look forward to playing on a regular basis.
One thing I really like is the all kits weapon selection. There are about 8 shotguns, 8 semi-auto rifles, and 8 carbines that can be used across classes. Not to mention class specific weapons like the AR's, PDW's, Bolt Actions Rifles, and LMG's; depending on your class.
Like any new game it has it's issues, and a different load out screen that take some figuring out, and some new/different ways to set up but I like the game. It gets 2 thumbs up from me.

Hey coolhand. I played BC2 for about a week before BF4 came out and just had so much fun again. As for the new game, yes I like it much better, it's clearer and the maps are more enjoyable too, at least on domination. I haven't played any of the other maps.
As for picking you map, you can. Go to the server browser and set your filters (R3 button I think, it tells you somewhere on the screen how to set filters). I think you'll enjoy BF4 much better than BF3.
Weapons were on of my issues in BF3 too. I like them much better here, plus you can unlock shotguns, carbines, and semi-auto rifles known as DMR's in this game to play with all kits. So basically, I can use the SKS or 870 and still be the ammo guy. Though I have found I have better, but not great control with the auto weapons.

I'm enjoying it much more than BF3. I like the weapon choices much better; meaning I like being able to have multiple choices in all classes. I stayed home with my daughter today who had the flu, so I played way too much. I've only played domination but I like it overall. Glad I got the game.

I figured why not. The last game I bought was BF3 so it was time for a new game. I will say this about it, I like the graphics much better than BF3, meaning, I can see more clearly. Controls are set up a little differently, but I'll deal with that. I played a little TDM and a little Domination. I think I like Domination. And as most of you know that played with me in the past, my main objective is to enjoy myself and I had a pretty decent time playing it.

I picked it up today and have played for an hour or two. I'm enjoying it. Still, I'm not really in the gaming mode as of late but I'm glad I got it. As for premium, I don't know if i'll do that or not, depends on how much I play.

I bet he's having a blast. There are few things I've done that are truly as enjoyable. I don't even need to go fast, 45-60 is my preferred speed. Those secondary roads with fewer cars are so enjoyable. Being in the middle of CA, if I go west I cross mountains to get to the ocean, if I go east I'm in the Sierra's. Even with all of my gear, the wind and temperature changes, smells, sights are all completely different than in a car. To be sure, I have to be alert at all times for road debris, potholes, oil/sand/gravel/small lines in the road, everything is noticeable and can cause a get off if you're not careful. Not to mention inattentive drivers and suicidal animals that jump out of nowhere. If you get the chance watch the Top Gear "Vietnam" special or the Ewan McGregor documentaries The Long Way Down and The Long Way Round. Both are on Netflix. http://www.longwayround.com/index.htm

Being a teacher, and with school starting early August, It's pretty much crazy around here in August and September until everything settles. My wife is also a teacher in the same district and both my kids go to school in the same district as we do, so we go from vacation to 100mph in just a couple of days and it's a mad house for a bit. It's beginning to settle down a bit so I'll probably pick up the game and play a bit on weekends (if I'm not out exploring). As for the bike, let me say that 250cc (like mine) is plenty of bike for anything a sane person wants to do 99% of the time. I'm glad I started on a small bike because little mistakes haven't cost me my life, injury, or damage to the bike. If your not afraid of what other people say or think there are quite a few 250 motorcycles to start with that now have ABS, brand new for under $5000. Reality though, there is maybe a better choice of scooters between 200 and 300cc. Still, I may upgrade to something a little bigger in the next year, not as a replacement, but as a supplement. Especially on those longer rides on weekends. So, something more for traveling long distances at sustained speeds with something in reserve. My bike is comfortable up to 65mph, but after that it starts to run out of steam and isn't quite as stable. So something that can cruise at 65-70 and still have power to overtake or get out of the way. Maybe this: or, hopefully this if Honda bring it over. It's the exact same bike (engine, chassis, brakes, etc), just different plastic to look more like a scooter and built more for touring:
